I do love Australia

In a somewhat pragmatic vein, I strongly object to parents who refuse to have their child/children vaccinated on financial grounds.

A disease that is simply fatal is no great problem but those that leave a child in need of long-term expensive medical care is a financial burden on us all and in my opinion should not be allowed. Polio comes to mind as a specific case in point even though the 1950s Salk vaccine has made it a non-issue these days.

my boy hasn't had the rubella jab, does that make us bad parents. Should we be coerced by the government. :bangin:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Rubella - mild disease and almost never any serious complications so only a minor problem for the kid assuming that most of his/her mates have had the jab and wouldn't catch anything from yours.

Rubeola (measles) - a different critter altogether and can be really damaging so hopefully you haven't avoided that jab. I normally see the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) as a single vaccine that would have taken care of both.

This is a misconception. I would not want any kid that had not had a Rubella jab coming anywhere near my pregnant wife if she had not been vaccinated.

I cannot understand why ANYONE would deny their kids ANY vaccine.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

I hope when your boy is grown up and has a pregnant wife he does not catch Rubella and pass it on to his similarly un-vaccinated wife whilst she is pregnant.

Are you a bad parent? I think it's irresponsible of you.

Should you be coerced by the government? Yes. You should be ostracised by the community too.

The strategy used to be to vaccinate girls only against rubella (or German measles, as we used to call it) because they are the ones who get pregnant. More recent policy is to vaccinate everyone to get rid of it in the population. I think that's the right thing to do, I would not wish the horrible birth defects it causes on anyone.

Oops - I forgot about pregnancy.

I'm absolutely surprised your not advocating all refugees and economic migrants coming into the country legal or illegally should be placed into quarantine for a year at least to ensure no one is carrying anything what so ever followed by a strict regime of just in case jabs for absolutely everything known to science that might be an issue, yet you wish to see me ostracised? Double standards at an massive scale, yet I have had my single jabs buster. :bleh:

btw, should I ask my boys wife (one day perhaps, might be not that way inclined for all I know) discreetly if she has had immunisation from rubella? .

Yes I'd vaccinate them all when they come in for everything that might be applicable along with a BCG test, and yes his future wife if he turns out to be that way inclined should be told he has not been vaccinated.

When I was about five or six I remeber I saw a wee lad just a bit older than me walking with leg calipers and saw kids in Iron Lungs on the TV. My mum explained to me that this was caused by a disease called polia but that I did not need to be worried about it because I had been vaccinated against it. No double standards with me mate. Vaccinate your kids. It's not rocket science.
