Golden Mile, Pros and cons, area by area

Little effort inside of a mile around Whitby plus the under 10 metre quota restrictions has greatly reduced any such effort anyway.

Also a fish will leave the i mile area, they come and go. A perfect ambush area would be crated at 1 mile 1 metre from the shore.

Why the question Jaffa ? You know it can never happen. The NFFO have just about complete control over DEFRA these days.

I suspect Jaffa is trying to flame up the N v S campaign.

I won't be tempted to contribute here, but you can read my thoughts regarding commercial activity and GM on the other recent threads.

Is there any proof that sea birds are becoming rare because of the inshore netting. If there isn't i would have to say this petition is poorly thought out and will fail.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Because i think it can happen Glenn; Just MO, but Defra is no longer about just farmers and fishermen, the greens have an ever increasing role. You may laugh at a lot of what Wurzel says but i think hes right that the huge reduction in the commercial fleet means there is a void in their role and "nature" always finds a way to fill it.

Its about money and influence IMHO Glenn. Compare the budget of the NFFO and all the green organisations lined up against it and then decide whose really the underdog and who you need to worry about.

Just MO.

Chris

Look up a post or too and, as Barry points out, welcome the extreme "wing" of the RSPB.

If you want to get really depressed, go do some digging on the RSPCA top guys ;):P

Tight lines,

Chris

You have clearly stated your wish that all commercial fishing is stopped but please feel free to "contribute" your experience on what things are actually like in your area?

If you have a theory about me stirring up Nv S stuff, or about me being a" hybrid fishermen", someone of the wrong class/colour/ box to dare ask questions, then please start a new post

OK, for me there could be a massive difference, virtually all <1mile out fishing effort is potting, with a bit of gillnetting for red mullet, flats and bass. The biggest benefit would be being able to fish marks without having to avoid pot bobbers. Having said that, since licensing came in the number of close inshore pots has decreased due to part timers leaving the industry.
