I thought it was just me that a 5minute job turned into a nightmare

Them "it'll only take five minutes" plumbing jobs?

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Down at the Bluebell Railway we used to call them "Can you justs"

 

"Can you just" put some air in the garden wheelbarrow tyre, became a wheelbarrow-dismantling job, wheel-retaining nuts corroded in so first they had two days soaking in WD 40. Then removing wheel, taking it to a garage, ordering a new inner tube, going back two days later to collect, searching for the wheel-retaining nuts and washers (put in a "safe" and forgettable place), finding them and reassembling. Only took a week !

Looks like it would be hell to me ,my jobs rarely go well ,to do one thing a number of lesser obstacles need overcoming first but generally involve a disc cutter somewhere along the line
