They are not ,except in the case of the waste of skins that insist they are .

In the company of women perhaps not but then you havnt heard what comes out of the mouths of some women!

As to the bowl its not a tub we put plants in them

If its bowl shaped its a bowl enforced by the fact we wash dishes (or smalls) in them whereas we do not in a tub

 

Its nice to see more things made of silicone ,as both i and the mrs take Co-codamol we have a folding cup in all our bags with the pills already in them waiting for water ,i import them direct from china they havnt caught on here enough to be 99p each!

Its drawbacks is silicone stains easily and its heavy compared to plastic but heat proof although not a positive thing in pill cups or washing bowls

PS it wasnt invented by nasa for space (wink) like millions of other things it was invented (or discovered ) and laid about waiting for a use to be found for it

Chesters1's, silicone comment reminded me of a similar "someday to be a product". DuPont has a glue with extraordinary properties. As of today, and for several past years, they cannot find a packaging that can be opened once filled for consumer use.

Spot on ayjay, my "Washing Up Bowl is like yours. For Washing up crockery & cutlery etc.

 

Yanks term for washing up is "Washing up for Dinner" - ie washing ones hands prior eating!! (as I understand it)

 

What we call washing up - they call it "Doing The Dishes".

In Scotland we call it doing the dishes too.
