The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Come to think of it Salar, if all the money the Treasury takes on tax disks, as well as 100% of the Fuel Duty was actually spent on the highways we would have the best roads in the world.

I suppose it will mean a few more jobsworths employed in fast patrol boats, stopping and dipping boat fuel tanks.

On second thoughts, no it won't. They don't have enough to protect the fish, by all accounts.

Just think what it would mean to the farmers having to pay the full amount for diesel, I mean think about it, cost an arm and a leg to run their tractors etc. then that would mean the price of produce would go up,not a good idea.

When it comes down to it. One persons `tax exemption`, is everyone elses `tax hike`?

Folk who take advantage of a `tax exemption` should realise who`s paying for that favour. And that`s the rest of the population!

We don`t use J`s anymore!!

The last three postings are missing the point.

There will be no red diesel for anyone. Everyone including farmers will buy standard white diesel, the same stuff thsat comes out the local garage and legitimate users will claim the duty back. So it won't effect the cost of any produce.

The government claim over 100,000 car owners are using red diesel at any one time. Its these motorists the government are trying to get at.
