End of the Tope?

Do somefolk have a problem, with regards to `Tope` being a commercial fish?

OK. A few plonkers will throw a few lines out, and catch the odd dozen tope.

Then, what happens? They`ll need a market for the whole body! Otherwise, the local TV company will make mincemeat of the tossers!

Can you just imagine the story. "Local skipper kills 1,200lb of fish to sell 80lb of fins to the chinks".:rolleyes:

The sorry sods` kids, would have to have a bodyguard at school?

Some commercials are getting desperate. As they`ve not actually been stopped from landing much so far. I think they`re trying to get sea anglers being put in the same bracket as `The green wellie brigade`.

I just wish the commercials would target `Sunfish`! I can tell them now where to net them!

For the life of me. I can`t think of any market for them.:rolleyes:

It`ll only take a couple of thousands of litres of diesel, to make the big mouth commercials back down.

We don`t use J`s anymore!!

Soft soap for tope

It’s like a scene from A Shark Tale. Trusty cod has been the big fry in the chippie for countless years. But now a shady shark is threatening to take a bite out of its business.

According to one Lowestoft fish merchant, it may be time for cod to turn tail and let fried-food fans pin their hopes on tope.

But he may have underestimated how attached we are to the double delight of cod and chips.

Decades of loyalty cannot be undone easily by an interloper, so the clever bets may be on the new fish on the block being a no tope-r.
