  1. Nice report. Would have loved to come but had to work this week. Hopefully the weather will improve for the species hunt
  2. Not had a chance to take pics 12 hour day S4C came to film work for Wedi 7 Tomorrow night hopefully
  3. Kayak is all wrapped up chained up and locked! Will take some tomorrow evening as I am building a storage compartment for it in the garden! There are millions (well lots) of kayaks rigged on the net. Lots of amazing ideas, some a bit OTT but they all give you ideas. Remember to rig the kayak to suit you and your style of fishing. Hopefully get some pics up for you asap tomorrow evening Gota get back to work now Respite overnight care tonight
  4. Richi came up with the igloo box design a long time ago. Lots of us have them now. I found the berkley 3 rod holder too wide for my Igloo box so I made my own out of waste pipe. I also added bungee on top to hold a chopping board. Bungee on the sides and inside to hold various items and added straps so it can be strapped down to the kayak. I kept the rigging on the tankwell so I can still use the rear bungee when I dont use the coolbox. Can post pics if it helps anyone.
  5. This is cracking me up Some people just dont get it! Need to get some t-shirts made I 8 BIC ones
  6. I think you are rather wrong Richi goes at more than anybody, and his catch amount per year is amazing! He has tried and tested the prowler 13 more than anyone, and if it is good enough for him it is good enough for me. Bics are not tried and tested and not built to fish from Your fighting a losing battle
  7. I sent a cheque with a self addressed stamped envelope and had it back the next day Had a few bass since but nothing worth measuring
  8. Why would you keep falling off? Are they that unstable?

Only used it a few times, washed after each use! Large one fits pukka behind the seat, best get both sizes to keep your options open

    Crates

I have an imax coolbag and fits nicely behind the seat, plenty of room in them for bait and food and more food. They keep everything cool all day

    Crates

I have used crates, boxes and coolboxes. I found with a crate everything can get wet so easily. But they are very cheap and can be modified easily A box/coolbox seems to keep things much drier A coolbox keeps the fish for longer and is also more solid, but heavier A crate will cost you a few quid, try one and see if you like it. A box will cost a bit more but also cheap enough. If all else fails buy a coolbox If you want to be a tart like a lot of us then the Igloo coolbox is the one to get Hope that helps
  13. Always nice to see how people rig their kayaks out Keep the pics coming

  15. Maidstonemike I remeber proudly posting a picture of my ocean drifter only to be told it looked like a big yellow skateboard Did I take a huge offence, no! It works both ways, people are entitled to their opinions. I have never tried a bic kayak so I cannot comment on them
  16. Thata quite a lot, what does the basic package entail? Seems to be getting close to a Dorado, and I know which one I would prefer! The Dorado is fully kitted out and tried and tested! How come we always get stuff later than the americans and pay more
  17. Found this from another site Quote: "All you have to do is put your soft-side cooler in that center hatch for your fish, and it's about $1200 bucks less than a Dorado!!" Er, excuse me? A Trident Angler with a rudder is $1339 and a fully rigged Kaskazi Dorado is $1795...cost difference $396. A Trident Angler "package deal" is $2439! And sure, you could put a soft sided cooler in that center hatch and keep your bluegills in it! On the brighter side, it does seem to be a BIG step in the right direction. I'd like to know what the true weight of it is, and not the advertised weight.
  18. I have had a c-tug for 10 months or so Really good in my opinion wheels clip on and off with ease and lock into place Can be dissmantled very quickly Strong will adjust to any shape hull plastic, will last ages Strap is fine, trolley only came off once because I did not put it on properly Can easily fit another strap if needed, the ones we use for strapping the kayaks on the roof but dont see the need. Only issue is that mine is green, a nice yellow one to match kayak would be great
  19. She is a beaut! Has it been tried and tested yet? How much?
  20. It can be dangerous but we had to instructors with us, I would not do it otherwise. Was good fun though
  21. was good fun but going to stick to kayak and rod done some coast steering for my early stag do
  22. 7 species for me; bass, grey gurnard, pollack, bream, dogfish, bull huss, mackerel
  23. ouch Have fished there once from the shore and the ground was really rough. It was very windy so we moved aross to the beach. Used to lose loads of weights from the shore. I usually end of making loads of bomb weights for my uncle, this ensures I get free fishing trips with him
  24. I have made literally hundreds of lead weights. The gemin mould is good as you can change the size of the weights with a single mould. Cheaper moulds need to be kept warm with a blow torch. Make sure you be careful that the place is well ventilated and you have the right gear. I use welding gloves and a welding apron. I used to make them when I done shore sea fishing but since kayaking I have not lost a single weight and have boxes of old breakaways that I usually give away as I will never use them. For the amount we lose on the yak I would not bother fussing to make weights anymore. hope that helps
