  2. A true story. I knew a lady driver(sorry girls) who had had numerous problems with her car engine. She spent £300 on repairs and got things sorted out. 48 hours later she came into work and in the locker room someone asked her how the car was running, to which she replid "Cr*p, and dosent the water bottle take a lot of water" We all looked at her with puzzled faces until someone had realised she had filled the engine up with water. Oh how we laughed..............she didnt!

  10. Do I assume the fishing in the parks in Liverpool is still free and open to all?
  11. Ahhhhh a new place to park my bike!!!
  12. I suppose it depends how 'famous' the person doing the speech is. You would not expect, for example Bill Oddie to do a talk on birds for £25 but having said that you would not expect Fred Smith (ie no one famous) to charge £500. It also depends on what type of talk to what kind of group. I know a lot of my local radio presenters will do a talk for local groups for free. Maybe charge £2 admission and £1 out of each person goes to the speaker
  13. I'll bet Mr Wenger hasn't seen it yet. He NEVER sees ANYTHING!!!!!
  14. Certainly remember Rockcliffe's Babes. Good series How about Leslie Nielsen in 'Police Squad'? Classic comedy! [ 12. February 2004, 11:04 PM: Message edited by: Ian Bass ]

    Licence

Dont buy one for freshwater, Wont buy one for sea
  17. Although I have never been a ref I have some sympathy for them. They get a split second to see an offence and make a decision. They do not have the benefit of slow motion replays from 101 different angles and these so called 'pundits' who constantly slag off the ref having seen the 101 different angles make me sick! Players have to realise the ref WILL make mistakes and the likes of the Arsenal and Man U players who surround the ref when he gets a decision wrong (in their opinion) should grow up and get a life!!!
  18. Newt we have a saying over her which may seem a little strange but here goes...........As thick as two short planks! Seems to fit the bill

  20. I dont see how anyone can argue with her. I fish on the lower walk at Blackpool and yes I do take my car down their but ALL cars that go there park over towards the cliffs side so that emergency vehicles can get past, as you can imagine we have hundreds of cyclists along the lower walk and because the cars are parked properly there is no problem. I do take my litter home but there is an awfull lot who dont. I dont care what you say there is NO EXCUSE for doing so. There is NOTHING that weighs more going home than it did on the way to the session (except the bag with fish in it ) We, as anglers constantly shoot ourselves in the foot!

    When

monkeyboy, you've just described my fishing session yesterday, the only thing you forgot was COLD, it was piggin' freezing! two and a half hours of nothing, went home.
  22. Sorry, Ive NEVER been able to accept him as 'BRITISH', or as a Heavyweight Champion. He can now return 'home' to Canada,(good ridance) [ 07. February 2004, 05:57 AM: Message edited by: Ian Bass ]
  23. Sythor, I recently used a Ron Thompson Rod and Reel (£39.99) and although it is not as good a quality rod and reel as I have myself I was very impressed with the quality of it. It fished quite well and is quite stiff and bite detection was good and it is A LOT better than several 'cheaper' rods ane reels I have used. If you are new to sea angling then I would recommend one to start with. Then if you find you dont like sea angling you wont lose too much when you sell it. If you DO like sea angling then you can either PX it when you upgrade OR use it as a second rod or if someone asks you to go fishing with you, you will have a spare rod and reel for them. I dont see the point of spending a fortune on a rod and reel to start with just in case you dont take to sea angling. Either way GIVE IT A GO!! and ENJOY
