  6. Where's Alan Roe gone? I used to speak to him and he used to be on a local radio angling programme regulally. Suddenly nothing. I have emailed him, no reply. Where's he gone?
  7. Simple answer, take along your beachcaster and a few 4 or 5 oz weights and have a bit of target practice!!!! They'll soon get the message. Our local yacht club did when they came to near the pier. A few ripped sails, never saw them again, or if we did it was at a VERY long distance Anglers 1 Sailors 0 [ 12. 18. aanthony, Bangladesh 152 all out, England 17-0 and we are playing badly? I think not.
  19. Gentlemen (*********** ************) you have just proved your ignorance. If you knew anything about the game you would know that batting tracks in the sub continent are slow turners thus making batting difficult and slow, playing in 35 - 40 C does not make matters easier. Aanthony, Hussain was out to a quick bowler(Mortaza)for a very well crafted TOP SCORE 76 not the very talented 16 yr old spinner(Haque Jnr). Having held the innings together with Clarke and Reid and posted a reasonable score ( I admit the last 4 wickets were poor )our bowlers have Bangladesh in considerable trouble. Nigelnibbles(************** ******************)if its like watching paint dry then one question. Why do you watch it. Test cricket is not all wham bam thank you mam (************ **************) it is a game of tactics and skill not just try to smash it all round the ground like in the 20-20 cup. I respectfully suggest you learn the basics and tactics of Test cricket before you ************ slag off our National side. ****************** ********************* ********************* ******************** ********************* *****************. ******************* ******************** ********************* ********************** leave the gentlemans game alone************** ************! Oh, by the way I notice we won the first Test Match and we will win the second. edit note: there was reasonable, honest opinion in this post so I only removed the parts that were a personal attack. 20. Hi Neil, Welcome to Anglers Net. The Zyrium has had several good write ups so that is a good choice but my favourite (and the one I use) you might have to get a second hand one is the Browning Black Magic 2 or 3. Save up a bit more if you need to and get one of these. Brilliant pole!!!! The choice of poles nowadays is mind numbing!
  21. As you may (or may not) know Eileen is going to ride the Pepsi Max Big One for Children In Need. Well at 2pm today (Sunday) Eileen and I went to The Pleasure Beach to go and do the deed. We had to que for just over and hour. During this time Eileen watched car after car go around. She got quieter and quieter. As we got to the top of the ramp where you actully go into station to get onto the ride guess who started panicing because she was to far off the ground (20ft) You then have to que for a while inside the station. VERY little conversation! There are now 4 people in front of us, Eileen informs me "I cant do this" and almost starts hyperventilating. There are now 2 people in front of us. The nice man who is in charge of the ride now informs evryone the ride has broken down and a maintainance man has been sent for. Eileen goes WHITE! I am trying not to laugh. 20 minutes we wait, Eileen is now in a full blown panic. "Stuff the bloody children, I cannot do it" At this stage I realise she means it. I decide not to let her go through with the ride as I can see she is terrified! I told Eileen just to walk straight through the car and out the other side. The gates open and we walk into the car. As we do so Eileen sits down and straps herself in. Several rude words are muttered and we'er off. She didnt open her eyes very much on the way round and the odd reference to God and Jesus were made BUT she did it, and I am VERY proud of her! . She will be in considerable pain for the next few days and when we got off she shook for over 20 minutes, and the words "Never" and "Again" were said.......... Several times actully. Well done sweetheart! [ 26. October 2003, 04:52 PM: Message edited by: Ian Bass ]
