  2. You could try a zig rig with a fake dog biscuit glugged in halibut oil.Scopex bloaters is another option.

  5. He looks like that chav bin man that won the lottery
  6. A trout like that is a very satisfying catch, and the rivers are getting cleaner all the time so I wouldn't give up hope of catching a bigger one if I were you.The biggest I have had up to now is a 4lb 4oz brownie, but I have been smashed off by something considerably bigger.
  7. bradford no1 or bradford city?
  8. The canal locks by me are closed during the winter so the boats are nearly none existent during the winter months, but the canal is still a murky brown colour, having said that though,I have travelled about eight miles along it in the summer and its clear enough to see the bottom in some places.
  9. That looks a very nice stretch of river, but what is it like when all the dog walkers come out?.There is an estate pond just up the road from me(coppice pond you might of heard of it)its a beatiful place first thing in the morning, but as the day wears on more and more dog walkers appear. There is a sign that clearly states dogs must be kept under control and not allowed in the water,it might as well be written in arabic. There is a stretch of the river aire I often fish though where you hardly ever see any body, you will probably know it at broughton near skipton.
  10. I have laminated mine, the only problem might be if you get asked, the bailliff might think its a fake, can the bar code still be scanned through the plastic?
  11. I was asked once last year and once the year before, both by the same E A bailiff,This is only my forth year fishing. He has a lot of water to cover as one place was about 10 miles away from the other.
  12. He has no other fishing tackle with him, definitely no landing net,my guess would be johnny foriegner fishing for the pot.
  13. would you mind?I've started making one from an old quiver tip and a block of wood, but I'm thinking it might be too heavy when I put some weight on the under side to ballance it.
  14. At 23 quid they're a bit expensive,I might have go at making one.
  15. Has anybody used one of these www.carpwizard.com
  16. A lot of the big pike are disappearing from the rivers where I fish, and its not because of otters.

I know what you mean, they can be little delicate, but yes thats how I zero mine as well.can they be adjusted or should I just chuck m out?.
  18. I haven't had mine long, its an allcocks flick-em so it has no bearings,on the slower runs I pad the spool round with the fingers on my left hand,I use my thumb on my right hand to slow it down or when I strike.I am a bit of a novice but getting better with practice

I zeroed them, then weighed a bag of sugar and it weighed 4oz more than what written on the packet,I checked the bag of sugar on my wifes kitchen scales and it did weigh what it said on the packet. It was a 1 kg bag of sugar.
  20. I decided to keep my hooks in a small tackle box,one of those thats about 100mmx150mm with the small compartments, but the smaller hooks keep getting mixed together as the lids don't shut tightly enough,is there one thats suitable for smaller hooks on the market?.Are magnetic hook boxes a good alternative?if so do they come in small sizes say twelve compartments?.cheers.
  21. I had my last day of the season yesterday,I had a chub about 3lb,2 grayling and four trout, one was my pb at 4lb 4oz,I am aware that its not the trout season but if they're in the river they will eat your maggots.
