Happy new year all ,hopefully its better than last year !

Yes i saw it but nothing will be done ,its not jobbies or farm runoffs thats the problem its what huge multinationals sell us to tip down the drains . Does sewage farms extract ,bleach? Toilet cleaners? Washing up liquid ? Washing capsule whose contents are so deadly they now have to be hidden from kids? Disinfectant? Etc etc Its what you cant see thats the problem no home grown test kit can discriminate between chemicals and even if they could huge multinationals would silence them . Nothing will happen until you punish bosses of water companies personally and fine big business bosses personaly and ban the sale of their chemicals and force water companies to remove chemicals of all kinds before putting the water in rivers or seas ,fining a company is just fining its customers in raising prices to cover the fines ,hitting the bosses in the pockets with multi million £ fines will get them thinking. Then ofcourse you have to do it worldwide or it will be pointles A simple law that any water entering another water MUST be cleaner than the water its entering would do the trick . If i were incharge any "water" entering another water would have to be distilled or reverse osmosis water would be the norm ,THEN force everyone else to do it ! I have been filtering every drop i drink for decades and using RO water on top for a year? If i can do it i am sure they can.They just need the bosses losing everything they own to buck their ideas up!

A leisure battery as suggested is your best bet they can be drained far more than normal car versions then recover back to full power completely amongst other benefits As for lithium the price is going to rocket ,now the worlds run by a few big mouthed loons the worlds country side is going to be devastated by rare earth and lithium mining so demand will increase its cost . For the tech savvy I would grab as many dead laptop packs as you can afford and rebuild a dead car battery into a lithium version before that source is unaffordable.

Its not the suppliers its the producers and ofcourse the government. The aosu seems to be a solution ,it can use Alexa to turn on the porch light and there is now two way communication via a Echo show but its complicated the solution is out there but finding an Alexa 'skill'* isnt easy to do exactly what i want. Everything is fine if the bell is pushed ,The bell starts the scenario the skill is activated but i want more i need to use the doorbells motion detection system to do it .The doorbell does notify the APP motion is detected and the APP alerts my tablet and phone but so far theres not an Alexa skill to set in motion the bell motion events .No doubt it will be out there all i have to do is find it ! Unfortunately the smart camera i had planned to watch the gate aint that smart its alexa enabled but its APP isnt despite it boasting it was as it has no skills made yet once it dies a more suitable one will be found .I had hoped it would alert the flood lamp (its on a smart switch) as soon as someone came through it because if i used the doorbell camera its going to be tripped by cars whereas the camera is higher so cannot see the road. i could use the doorbell to switch on the floodlamp but its a little late once its been pushed *skills ....Theres 3 or 4 "smart" control systems out there that control what devices do ,ofcourse theres not total communication they are from different companies (google is the worst) a skill is nothing more than steps IE if bell does this (ring) then go to step one (turn on light ) then tell APP to tell Alexa to switch to bells camera ,then turn on mic then 4 minutes later turn off lamp BUT as yet theres no step to turn off mic so thats a voice command. It maybe a case of Alexa using IFTT (if this then that) to do it but i will wait !hours of screaming at a phone is in my eye not worth it the doorbell times out after a few minutes anyway if no-one is in so the birds can have a sing in the time before it does

We have had a Dexter in ours ,he popped over the electric fence and came in the front garden for a crap . The new fox about isnt so nice as limpy he comes round for a feed and leaves crap! at least the badgers use their latrine in the field next to our fence well until the mrs found out they dont like borage for some reason and a whole packet of seed and the resultant mass of plants made them move it .Not seen the deer for some time it had a fawn in the field then after a few weeks disapeared perhaps to the relative quietness of down by the river where theres fewer dog walkers .As a result we had more roses this year deer love eating them!

You could have told me AFTER you bought it LOL . Today companies unless they make it themselves don't have a clue they just buy a container of "stuff" they've had their name put on (or worse stick a sticker on when it arrives) and flog it pretending it's theirs if they designed it from start to finish someone would have stipulated what thread screw x had .And their staff asked any question about a product they sell could have answered. Unfortunately such times no longer exist and customers are treated like trash .

I have one but cannot see its use as a smart device after all its just a phone it just does phone stuff . I have gone for the Aosu 2k doorbell not perfect but has two way communication with our amazon flex's we have scattered about ( we have one in each shed they act as ringers for the doorbell ) none of these devices are perfect theres a three second delay after the doorbell rings (much faster than some!) But it now with Alexa switches on the porch light when the button is pressed and off 5 minutes later (between 4pm and 12pm ) .The pictures are great and visitors clearly seen in day and night and with human detection only the fox even coming close doesnt trigger it .I think its the best option after a Ring camera which you have to subscibe to to get the same functions ,i dont do subscriptions to companies who cripple their tech you own until you pay up

It annoys me people refuse to answer a simple question but feel the need to get involved anyway . Amazon questions isnt a forum its a service for potential buyers its bad enough you have to use it! every possible question's answer should be in the description . Its all about money ,bungs for the councils and inflated costs of houses ,a new small estate went to planning at the far end of Farnham ,everyone knew that area flooded ,the Herald showed pictures of it flooded .The council gave permission guess what? It floods ! For clod the clue lies in the words FLOOD plain! You know that nice flat ground that hundreds of thousands of houses sit on next to rivers! As to the churches its not so much flooding but nearer my god than thee and power! Most churches of age were put on far earlier buildings as a form of dominance and power so height vs flood predates the church by millenia

Its a big one but most modern "crucian" are just brown goldfish so amongst a stocking several will be gold and suddenly not only has a club destroyed any true crucian stocks they may have had but got goldfish to amuse the anglers who dont care what the club does so long as they have lots of fish to catch.

Never under stood the reason for it , simply strap a little outboard to a canoe then once you get there use a paddle ,then a fast home run to a fishmongers to buy some fish to pretend you caught it and justify buying it in the first place to the mrs . Dingies are even more stable The last time i saw one was at folkestone the angler couldn't move his little arms fast enough to fight the current and gave in and i presume fished as he floated out of sight to dungerness ,that was a pity hes no doubt parked his car at dover he appeared from that direction

No smart meter from me aswell even the meter reader agreed !but ofcourse he would its his job on the line. I predict every home will have them although (at the moment) its not mandatory all the suppliers have to do is say yours is end of service life or potentially dangerous and it appears. The meter reader says the network they use isnt that great but a Faraday shield will silence it anyway.Generally companies and goverments get their way by deciet rather than big sticks which annoy the masses ..We saw it in the pandemic where you were restricted if you didnt have the passport ,you merely restict peoples lives if they dont do as they are told rather than force people to do something .The resisters against smart meters will just see their costs rise if they dont have one for some reason or other . Our telly is partailly smart it has internet capability but very limited Apps and no direct communication our Nvidea shield though has a mic on its remote. As to Alexa the Go has a shutter over the camera and if Alexa wants to overhear two old gits whittering away its welcome As i said the Flex is brilliant for a tenner it has a usb charging port so my little drill can stay on charge after using it in the shed plus its Alexa enabled all for under a tenner! My "to do " list is getting bigger every day ! Before i had forgotten what it was before i got indoors to find a pen and paper ,the mrs uses Alexa indoors to add things to the shopping list.

Ordered a blink and hub hopefully that solves the problem ,if it does then we can scare the crap out of postie when he visits Not just a random urge rfor tech if we have a fall in later life and cant reach the phone we could tell the number of our key safe by the door by either the mrs's Meta Go or one of the 3 Echo flex we have (even got one in my shed ,brilliant for two way talk to others indoors or using as reminders etc) scattered around .The Flexes are brilliant for under a tenner ! The Meta Go is a bit limited but the only screen device that can use Messenger for the Mrs and its portable so you could take it to another room to look at vids ,recipes or instructions how to do things on something bigger than a phone .My son used it last week to take to his car to take apart something using a youtube vid ,trying to balance a phone to do the same would have been a nightmare

We have a few "smart " devices ,sockets that are Alexa enabled that monitor electrical use and smart switches that come on on command or on timers etc . But i need some info i cannot find online for some reason ! Does ANYONE know of a smart camera that can be seen and heard by an Alexa Show (thats the easy bit they pretty much all can) But the visitor can be spoken to via Alexa ? Its crazy in this time you have to power to see and hear a visitor on a screen but you have to search for your phone and open an app to just talk to them! The only picture i have seen online showing a camera on a screen showing the microphone symbol (ie you can talk back) is a ring doorbell there must be more out there? Most are Alexa enabled but that doesnt mean two way audio in the cameraas i own
