i had my car insurance reminder from a well known company , it seemed a little high so i looked about on the web , i looked at an online quote from the same company i was already with i was shocked to see it £20 cheaper online than on my reminder , i at once sent an e`mail to the company insisting that i should pay the same rate as a "new customer" they relented and sent me a cheaper quote :mad: the "lower " prices are to attract more customers ,it seems the old customers pay more to cover it :mad: :mad: £20 is that all you say ,it is if you are paying £150 rather than £130

a strange thing happened today ,my local pond is "hosting" a coming match from a neighbouring club , none of the other clubs members who are practicing on the pond now and again have unhooking mats ( our members as i have said earlier MUST have) on phoning the head bailiff to ask about this i was told not to bother them too much :confused: seems there IS a law for them and one for us when there is a club match on any of our lakes the bailiffs are encouraged NOT to attend when the match is in progress (its a clique thing) ,could our matchmen ALSO be exempt???? sorry to hear that den , a "after the horses bolted " tip ,i have my mail setup so that a copy is made on a seperate partition (not much good if the WHOLE disk dies though) but i have a couple of cdrw`s one is for photo`s ( the origanals are kept on disk D ,my 20gb disk is in 3 partitions) the other is a backup disk ,i can reinstall windows etc then run the backup to get back all my personal bits, any other vital files can be kept on a third disk , i use cdrw`s rather than cd`r as you can drag and drop much more easily . if the complete hard disk dies all my beloved and impossible to replace photo`s are safe.

when using chemicals in a tank those people using internal or external filters using carbon should remember that the carbon will remove the chemicals (thats what its for) if steralising your gravel when using a under gravel filter they should realise all the bacteria in the gravel that once provided the cleaning will also be killed ,use another filtration method untill the bacteria reform (there used to be an addative available to reinhabit your gravel) on the subject of carbon it is known in some circumstances that when its exausted (i e full of removed "bye products" ) it can suddenly release them back into the water ,hense carbon should be renewed FREQUENTLY fish should be in quaranteen for as long as possible ( i used to use a month) chemicals in the quarantine tank should only be used if signs of disease shows, not as the norm [ 26.
