  2. Try a commercial vehicle policy, usually a bit cheaper.
  3. Anybody recommend a decent brolly for £50 max??
  4. I've been at the British GP all weekend and the big screens around the track are showing another Fosters ad as well with a bird of prey flying from its keeper to take food from a girls hand....except it rips her head off ala the first advert!!
  5. Bearing in mind you have seen a pic of me on another thread here Elton, would you think an XL would be fat bastard enough for me??
  6. Oh Dear, I'm gonna get a reputation as a carpie soon. Got a 13 and a half mirror today as weighed by Reuben Heaton as opposed to guessing as I did before so now a genuine double+. Followed this with a 9 3/4lb common(my biggest common) 4 more commons over 6lb and 2 mirrors just under 10. Again not big in the grand scale of things but more carp than I've caught in my life and a PB too
  7. Best not get a brainbucket on mail order as you really need to try it first to get a good fit. An illfitting helmet can be more dangerous than no helmet at all.
  8. I've been allergic to nuts all my life. Most of the time I realise I've accidently had some when my mouth feels funny. So I drink lots of water to sloosh it away and then have stomach problems for 24hours...ie the Brad Pitts!! A few months ago I ate some crispy chinese beef and as it was a bit hot I didn't realise my mouth was going funny.Within a few minutes I had to rush to the toilet and I couldn't breathe properly.I got carted off in an ambulance. Luckily the symptoms subsided in the hospital after some oxygen. Now the meal I had eaten I had had many times before but not from this particular chinese. So beware! This aside it seems that we (humans) are getting less intolerant to allegies. It's been well documented recently that this is the case. Do a search on Google and you will frighten yourself silly with how things have changed.
  9. A poem from Macca..... We lay on the grassy bank, my hands were all a quiver, I slowly undid her suspender belt her leg fell in the river. And...Did you hear that for her birthday, Macca bought Heather a plane? She's going to keep using Immac on the other leg though.
  10. Look HERE. The site is genuine and boring but check out the URL!!
  11. Discovery H and L have had this one on all day today. Unfortunately I've been working so I've only caught it from 7.30pm but have to say it's Matt and Mick at their best. Great fishing, humour and a lot of talk about the fish and the tactics involved catching them. Good to see Matt showing tackle and knots etc. Now Mick is fishing for stickleback with a 26 hook, fine line, a matchstick for a float and a kiddies net pole to tie the line on!! As Mr. Hayes would say....BRILLIANT!!
  12. DOH! Can you get any foreign channels on the Digibox, if so where can you get the codes for them? [ 12. June 2003, 04:45 PM: Message edited by: Colin Payne ]
  13. Also HERE for many foreign channels.
  14. As a coach driver in deepest darkest Surrey I find that every other car is a BM and that most of them are driven by pratts!! Unfortunately a BM vs a 12ton coach usually results in a flat car but strangely when they drive up the inside of me as I'm turning or go up the wrong lane and cut in front at the last minute the dozy tossers don't seem to realise this. I suppose I get cut up by many drivers but by the fact that every other car seems to be a BM they tend to stick in my mind. One of our drivers had a BM drive up the inside of him as he turned off a roundabout. Result...small crack in wheel arch and broken marker light to coach, car had front wing almost ripped off!!
  15. I've been fishing a lake about 1 rod length out and about 5 ft deep. Loaded float with single shot on the bottom to get the bait down. I found even with this the prawn still took a while to get to the bottom and I had several bites on the drop including one tench that took the end of the rod whilst I was tightening up. I used size 12-14 hooks and hooked the prawn straight thru the middle as I didn't need to cast that far. Had a few that flew off but on the whole this seemed to work. Got some Waitrose frozen prawns for a sesh on Sunday and these held together very well and I lost another carp on them but then had a PB on sweetcorn. As to baiting I chucked some pellets in and chopped up some prawns ala worms except they didn't wriggle as I did it
  16. Elton, the water is called Twynersh in Chertsey. There are 7(i think) pools and the one I fished has carp, tench, roach, rudd, perch and I'm told pike. Up til now I had only caught 2 carp, a 2 and a 1/2 about twenty years ago and a 6 and 3/4 last year on different waters So this time having been given advice how to fish this water I was hoping for a carp or two, three as it turned out to be over 3 days just fishing during the day. The biggest I've heard to come out is 22lb on a POLE!! I was float fishing prawns, sweetcorn and cockles on one rod and had a carp rod on sweetcorn or boilies. 2 carp came on prawns and the PB was on hair rigged sweetcorn. And if you did bump in to me in a dark alley I would pick you up, dust you down and buy you much alchohol for running this fine establishment Colin
  17. Here's a couple of piccys. It might look a bit small but bear in mind I'm 22 stone and very wide and you'll realise it's a decent fish. [ 01. June 2003, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: Colin Payne ]
  18. Well today I did it again. I caught a 10+ Mirror on 4 pieces of hair rigged sweetcorn! Myself and my mate sgreed it was much bigger than the 8.10 from the other day so we settled on a double+. The only sad tinge to it was that when the carp took, myself, my mate and the fishery manager were trying rescue a very young Canada goose from a hook and several feet of line. We had to shoo the parents off while the manager grabbed the bird and took it to her office to retrieve the hook from the poor buggers mouth with some forceps. It really f***s me off some of the rubbish people leave and if we hadn't of seen it happen that little bird might not be with us now! Anyway as I returned to my rods one of them was screaming off(alarm too quiet...DOH!) and had gone about 50 yards across the lake. Thank heaven for baitrunners. Colin (happy and sad)
