  11. I suppose in his defense he would have said " I didn't mean to kill him " or words to that effect but he should have thought about the consequences before taking the action he did. Now one man is dead due to this idiots over reaction a life cut short, a family suffering the loss of a loved one. No 4 yrs is too short, this is no deterrent to this sort of crime he will probably be out in two yrs, I would have thought 10 yrs was reasonable.
  12. 13. Hi, How come we haven't seen any offences of Men taking women to court for indecently assaulting them, I know when I was at school, this rather nice lovely gorgeous (Female ) teacher always wore low necklines and when sat at her desk, you could not get near for young lads pushing to get their books marked Lol and, I think most of them would have given there high teeth to be Sexually assaulted by her.
  14. I did not know we had a problem with the americans training on British land, I spent a lot of my service time training with the american forces in and around thetford. Never had any problems with them, bit gung ho and full of themselves but apart from that nice guys.
  15. AN investigation has been launched after hundreds of dead fish were discovered by a Ramsbottom man. The fish were found by Gary Fleming in Bradshaw Brook, near Bolton, on Sunday while he was walking in the area with a friend. Mr Fleming said: “They were fresh. Someone has dumped something poisonous and powerful enough to kill all the fish in there. “I saw about 60 dead fish on the surface, but there was some water that was so deep that you couldn’t see, there could have been hundreds. I got to the bottom of Jumbles reservoir and there was about a mile of water strewn with dead fish. It was very disturbing.” Bradshaw Brook connects the Wayoh and Jumbles reservoirs, which are used by United Utilities to provide homes across north Manchester with non-drinking water. They are also connected to three other reservoirs, including the Turton and Entwistle reservoir. A spokesman for United Utilities said the incident was initially reported on Friday, and that a joint investigation with the Environment Agency was continuing. He said: “We are now working with the Environment Agency to help find out what caused this, but at the moment we don’t know.” An Environment Agency spokesman confirmed: “After receiving reports of fish in distress at Bradshaw Brook, our Fisheries officers attended the site. “On arrival, they found hundreds of fish dead in the water. Investigations to determine the cause of this incident are ongoing.”

  17. Sorry Guys, But to me MENDELA was a Murdering Terrorist, no more no less and, they are doing the same over here with the IRA,both have killed and committed atrocities to get where they are, ask Mendel's victims that are still alive what they think of him and, do the same with the IRAs victims. No I don't want anything to do with any of them, People forget to easily, never mind water under the bridge.
  18. Ken, If it was 10 yrs ago she will have had the cataracts done the old way Lol no wonder she freaked out!!! Dave
  19. I have had both eyes operated on due to cataracts and, I wore Glasses before but now no longer need them. I was operated on by the national Health at Rochdale Infirmary for the left eye, went in at 11-30am, had drops put in my eye every 15 minutes then after Two hours went for the operation, A device like a cup is placed over your eye to hold sterile water then two injections into sides of your eye sockets ( you don't feel them due to the drops you've had ) then a jet of fine water is used to clean eye. then small cut made at the side of your eye then the cataract is removed with the lens and a new lens slid back in the eye ( you will be measured for your lens on one of your pre op visits. back out and going home after 4 hrs. You will have to put drops in your eye after your operation for 14 days then go back for a follow up check up, I then had lazer treatment for a bit of residue left in my eye ( No problem it does not hurt ) then I had the right eye done at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury 5 mths later by the same team, same procedure but no lazer on right eye this time. its been nearly 18 months since and I have perfect vision in both eyes and can read a book with out the need of Glasses, got to go back i4th Feb to be signed off. I would recommend that you have it done soonest, you will be amazed at the result. Honest. Dave
  20. My wife used to make my packed lunch and do my flask but since I asked her to nip into the Shop and get me 2 pints of small eyed tarten maggots, she was a bit hesitant at first but went in anyway. Shop was full of Anglers and the chap in the shop ( Fishermansway in Bury ) give her a hard time and, when she came out and saw me laughing with tears rolling down my face after a couple of lads come out and told me what was going on in the shop, she wont have anything at all to do with me going fishing now. Funny at the time . not funny now
  21. I did smoke, I went through 60 cigs aday easy when you are driving long distance but give it up 25yrs ago. my personal opinion is that it is already a nanny state, if you take drugs, if you drink alcohol, if you over eat, if you abuse your body in any way then accept the consequences, the state should not be providing care for people who get ill through self harm. As for Doctors, Well I knew a doctor who chain smoked and would not treat anyone with chest problems who smoked and, became the leading oncologist in the Manchester district. Smokeing in cars or when chikdren are in closed areas is a No No. Dave
