  1. Hi Dan.. Now you have got into your BIOS,you probably need to go to INTEGRATED PERIPHERALS. You may find that you have AC97 in there..... highlight it by using the cursor keys, then change the value (enable/disable) with the "page up/page down" keys. I just fitted a creative labs 5:1 card and all the speakers... now I can annoy my neighbors without turning the volume up !!!! Hope this helps Terry
  2. I know a bloke who was prosecuted for "Drunk in Charge" with a motor home.... Apparently if there is direct access to the drivers seat from the rear of the vehicle you can still be nicked
  3. Hi folks.... a little bit of input from an MOT tester. quote: The renewal form has come through and says we need an MOT certificate from 23rd September which is when it reaches 3 years old. If your Local Post/Tax Office get a little shirty about no MOT certificate, go to your local MOT station and get the test done, but make sure you ask them to post date the certificate to 23rd sept (which is when it is due) Make sure that you also take with you the registration document so they can take the serial number and enter it into the appropriate box on the VT20 (pass certificate) You are legally allowed a maximum of 13 months MOT so anytime after today, 23rd August is fine to take it for its 1st test. Terry
  4. Great story Alan Here's a piccy from a couple of lads I know who fish out of Oban It was sent to me by Owen Brown of Edinburgh, and is of his 2 mates Andy and Camy, in April 2001 186 lb Common Skate
  5. quote: Have we in The UK GONE MAD. WE havent gone mad no.... its the ones we supposedly voted in on our local councils etc..all trying to outdo each other in PC cr** Cant they see that it is possibly offending the majority of the population just to pander to a few whingers (who by the way know all too well that the looney left will oblige)
  6. A woman full of wind???????? They normally cant keep their mouths shut long enough to build up the pressure !!!!!!!!!
  7. Sorry Alan, just sorted your mail out from around 1000 junk mails.......    been an absolute nightmare trying to sort it all out ! I will reply via this board for now till I get as much as possible blocked. I didnt have a hand book for the motor, it was ex rnli when I got it. At idle it will cut out very quickly as it will oil up. If I needed to have the motor idleing while on a drift (ie close to rocks etc) I would lift the fast idle lever to achieve a steady fast idle without racing the engine.... but you have to remember to lower it again before it will go into gear! It depends on how long the motor has been switched off for as it cools down very quickly and the use of 1 or 2 pokes on the choke is normally needed for reliable starting at sea (in my experience with that motor) also ensure that the priming bulb is fully pumped up before attempting to start. Hope that answers your questions for now mate I caught a Bass once....... was about 6" long and I too have NEVER caught a decent sized 1 Keep the fishy tales coming mate Terry
  8. quote: The worst thing about the trip is that my 2 friends caught all the Bass Alan I know exactly what you mean....... I was always at the helm while the action was going on Terry
  9. Better still than a life jacket, a full floatation /survival suit, either 1 or 2 piece is an absolute MUST have for anyone thinking of fishing around UK shores in autumn thru to the back end of spring...... well all year round except for the few odd days we get that are reasonable Whether charter, small boat or beach fishing they are a definate lifesaver. Terry
  10. Watch out for the fuel filler neck rusting through on older micras.... quite a common fault as all the road spray accumulates on top of it. They are bloody expensive from Nissan and hard to find in the breakers yards. I picked up a nice 2litre dohc 16 valve cavalier auto 1995 from Telford auction last friday ( no tax but long MOT ) for £670......
