  1. how about "No Noddies or kids under 18"
  2. Run rabbit run rabbit run run run
  3. So where was the light gear fishing article in AM this week he caught more from the shore in one day than I have in 20 odd years of fishing my local beach. I think the writer did very well!
  4. Hello welcome I am suffolk based too. moved house to be by the River Waveney this year. 1st pike of the season an 3oz monstor. They say there are Cats in the Waveney probably dead pussy cats!! The Carp died after a salt water influx but the turkish Crayfish are still there.
  5. What you giving up the Sea? Surly the best fishing in the UK around there
  6. The BA traced the boater and gave him "Suitable advice!
  7. Would have been bigger than the Other Broads "Predator" I caught today
  8. Try Lobworm in the margins, I usually fish with Red maggot an when the bigger fish move in fish a bigger bait. a nice mixed fishery so most baits will work
  9. If he had been cutting up my boat I would have driven away and ignored him
  10. First Pike of the season on a shad plug it was huge!!! all of 3oz. I was twitching the lure and the Pike picked it up as it dropped back to the bottom. Next cast I slipped on the muddy bank and slid down on my arse and went for a swim! walked back to the car soaked but proud of my first Pike of the 2009 river season
  11. buy a method feeder a bag of method groundbait and some boilies matched with a big hook and short hook length and you are away
  12. I have been bitten by the fishing bug
  13. Lure fishing today above and Below Beccles it was virtually impossible due to weed having been cut floating all on top of the river. Even the bottom was very weedy. Loads of Noddies on the bank with that good old hold all fish with a dry rag mentality. Suffice to say it was a complete waste of time.
  14. Thanks for that Andy. even I learned something about rigs for Pike

    Hi there

Well you are welcome to fish with me I am 80 miles away. in Suffolk
  16. As usual before groundbaiting i cast out a lead with two red maggots, Nice 4lb 40z Bream. So in went the groundbait. some nice pulls and nothing. soon found out the Turkish Crayfish rife in the River waveney had moved in. The river was a warm 51f and it looks as though they were feeding on every hook bait i put on. Tried putting a small cork ball on the hook length but the crayfish still attacked. I was pleased with my Bream but the crayfish ruined the rest of the afternoon
  17. Summer is a good time to fish for Pike but they will be lean and expect a lot of Jacks http://www.anntysons.co.uk/fishing.cfm
  18. I only catch enough throughout the summer for my winter Pike Campaign. I dont fill buckets up for the sake of it
  19. Crayfish are a pest on my River Waveney. I air inject Lobs, this seems to stop them chomping my worms in half. Sometimes I have to fish through them for my specimen Perch. Daylight seems to cause them to attck my lobs than dusk or dawn but due to the FPO allowing me out at certain times I have to work with what I have.
  20. I have never actually had a deep hooked Eel but would try and remove the hook if possible. I may trial these circle hooks by experimenting with them on another rod. anything to protect our fish stocks.
  21. I have lots of bail arm springs in my carpet, if you ever change a bail arm spring when it pings you will never see it again.

    PB Eel

Nice to see them coming back. I thought we may have lost specimen eels. Caught one this week on my River Waveney.
  23. These are very easy to repair. Just needs cleaning out and re greasing. I know what you mean they are very good reels. I use a 300 and have caught many good fish. Angling is so complicated and these reels are (were) so nice and reliable.
