  1. A BIG THANK YOU to all the lovely people who sponsored me. I raised £60 all together for Children In Need. Never again will I do what I did, but thank you very much it was lovely of you, next year I will sit in a bath of....... Baileys Irish cream, at least I can drink it while bathing! All I need is some nice firm to offer me 60 bottles of the stuff... any offers????
  2. Nigelnibbles, I have baked 3 Christmas cakes last month, my presents are all bought and my Christmas dinner veg has been par boiled and is in the freezer. Is that too early for you. I'm not one of those idiots that leave it all to the last week before Christmas day. The decorations will not go up until 3-4 days before Christmas day, that way they do not collect to much dust over Christmas.
  3. Queen, Freddie Mercury was FANTASTIC, bless him. I also liked Robert Palmer bless him too. Todays people, well I could not name anyone of them.
  4. Judy PLEASE don't tell Ian where to get one he's far too old
  5. I have not laughed so much in ages, thanks Judy, still recovering from the Big One do!!!
  6. How on Earth did you know I looked like that after going on the Big One for Children In Need. I also have a stair lift and if Ian thinks he's going to do THAT to mine he's got another thing coming.
  7. To all you lovely people who have sponsored me or given me lovely words of support, I thank you all. I very nearly did not do it, I was terrified and did not see a thing as from the moment the 'car' started to move to the moment the ruddy thing stopped, I had my eyes shut tight. I called for God and ask my loving passed away mum to look after me. Ian was an angel and held my hand, the other hand was tightly holding on to the safety bar I have done it now but I have vowed I will NEVER step foot again into the Pleasure Beach. Who on Earth dreamt up the word Pleasure for that bloody place  I was shaking for 20 odd mins after getting off the Big One. How people can go on it time after time is way beyond me. But I have done it and again I thank everyone of you for kind words and suppport. You are all a grand lot, be proud of yourselves. Thanks again.
  8. To Alan & Paul D, I have sent you both emails but I will tell you here. I have received your cheques, thank you ever so much. They are sat in my CIN file, once I get everyones in off to the bank to pay it in. Thank you all. Still got to do it though.
  9. Hi Gray, my outlook in life is we ALL need to be loved and wether that is male/female or same sex it does not bother me. The church needs shooting, surely they should "Love Thy Neighbour" It does not matter who teaches the word of the Lord because at the end of the day, gay or not, they all beleive in the same God and He had enough 'men' friends, didn't He?
  10. To those who are good enough to have said they are sponsoring me, I am pretty sure I have emailed all of you with my address and what to put on the cheques. If I have left anyone out, get intouch with me. As for WHEN am I going to do it..................this week is looking likely as it is getting very close to the Pleasure Beach closing for Winter. I can not post any photos on here as I have no scanner or digi camera. But belive me I would not joke about a thing like this. Also as soon as I get your donations I will let you know. Thank you all
  11. I cannot wait to see her face as we go over the top on the first drop I like the WE bit, thanks love. XXXXXX
  12. Bloody BRILLIANT, well done Alan.
  13. Me and my big mouth. Sat sitting, just thinking, I heard a message on my local radio about Children In Need. Then I heard myself saying, "I could go on th Big One at the Pleaseure Beach and get sponsored for it." I hate heights, have no trust in any rides. Then what do I do? I only go on their web site and order a starter pack. I feel sick already. I said to Ian "I don't know that many people to sponsor me so I will not bother" he replied "It's the taking part that matters" and "Every penny counts" Anyone care to join me on 21st November to hold my hand....... Wait a minute when does the Pleasure Beach close for the year? I may well have a way of getting out of this. All donations greatfully received!!
  14. All of them I really HATE watching films, the odd one is watched but believe me it is the odd one.
  15. The going off of these explosions (fire works) start here at the begining of September, goes balistic leading up to 5/11 then we have a lull until Christmas then the new year. I'm only 41 but I remember when fire works were for Bonfire night. These ruddy things are used to attack people or scare to death the elderly. I say NOW is the time to ban them from shops. Surely organised events would be cheaper to go to than what you pay for them at your local shop/super market with less chance of you or your children getting injured.
  16. I've kept Turantulas, Lizards and snakes, big and small, I bring into the house cold bees and feed them sweet drinks and put the fire on in the dining room, then once they are happy I collect them and pop them outside. So what puts the fear of God in me?............................................. .................................................. Balloons, nearly 41 years of age, 5 feet 6 inch and a heavy weight and balloons terrify me, I turn into a bag of putty, I sweat and can not concentrate. Even now just the thought of them and I feel uneasy. Pathetic I know but I can't do a thing about it. They scare me to death.
  17. I have a pole and all the tackle I will ever need BUT I still want a tattoo of a Barnowl on my shoulder. The only thing I have not got........... courage!
  18. I read Last man a couple of months ago, amazing story, my 15 year old son is reading it now "mum, there's alot of swearing in it!". I said " I'd swear alot if I was stuck like that" Now reading Winstons' War by Michael Dobbs who wrote House of Cards. Part fact, part fiction I am on chapter 8, still 1939. as I was born in '62 I'm not sure what is fact or not but I am enjoying it. It takes a very good book for me to read as I am not a great reader of books. [ 13. June 2003, 09:16 PM: Message edited by: Eileen B ]
  19. Friday 13th is what you make of it. My hubby was born on Friday 13th March and his mum was born on Friday 13th September, so why worry and as for those 2 boys..... beautiful, good luck to them. If they are like my hubby and mum in law they will not need it. [ 13. June 2003, 09:00 PM: Message edited by: Eileen B ]
  20. Hi Chris, do what my dad did got up said sorry I have not done a speech over to the bride and groom and Ian & I did our own! Thanks dad.
  21. Ian does a great deal of cooking and housework as I am disabled, as for going out for meals it is not easy to get a wheelchair up to a table in comfort and there is no chance of BBQ this Easter as it is over cast and cold here.
  22. They could wear a bunny outfit,I would not mind, so long as they did their job correctly. It is not the clothes, but the way help is given that counts. [ 12. April 2003, 08:19 PM: Message edited by: Eileen B ]
