  1. The power top 2 kits are more for commercials and bigger fish, so therefore more stiff. The match top 3 kits are also used a lot on commercials but for silvers and therefore more softer than a power kit. Less elastic is used in the power kit as it runs through the top to sections. Top twos are kits which you use if you are fishing for carp in the margins which you will use 16 to 18 elastics, or carp, tench, F1s etc in open water with size 10 to 14 elastic. Match top 3 kits are designed for lighter elastics like 4 to 10 elastics and therefore are used for smaller fish like roach, Rudd, skimmers etc. The elastic runs through the top 3 sections and has a thinner top so you prob wouldn't be able to get a heavy elastic through it anyway. Jack.
  2. Good evening, If you are fishing on a canal I would recommend Daiwa blue hydro. Hydro elastic has a rating of 5-8, this means when playing small roach etc on the canal the elastic will act as a number 5 elastic which will be fine for that type of fishing. If however you were to hook a bream or a decent perch the elastic will act as a number 8. The hydro is hollow in the middle and has a special type of liquid in it that enables it to constrict and become a harder elastic. However the Daiwa hydros are about £15. However you could buy a number 6 solid elastic and fit it to a pullabung and then if you were to hook a bigger fish you could carefully ship to your top kit and use the pulla and tighten the pressure on the elastic to put pressure on the fish. A Preston solid number 10 and a pullabung is about £10 altogether so it's up to you really. Hope this helped, Jack Edit: btw I would recommend a match top 3 top kit rather than a top 2 power kit. You won't bump as many fish with a softer top 3 kit.
  3. For bream I only use the Old Ghost Bream ground bait with about half a tin of sweet corn in it and corn on the hook. Although it is mainly a spring/summer mix. Oh, and molasses additive as well. Jack.
  4. Rudd, How would it affect my no.4 section? My top 2 sections have the elastic in them, wouldn't it affect my no.3 section? Thanks, Jack
  5. Good Afternoon all, I have fitted a bulla bung to the end of my elastic in my pole and it fits fine until I put the next section and then it pushes down into my pole a little bit. Can I cut the dark part at the end of my pole about about 1inch? It seems more reinforced than the rest of the section. I will still have about 2inches of the dark part left. Thanks, Jack Edit: Sorry the picture isn't great quality, at the bottom of the pole you can just about see the change in colour of the section.

    bioline

Good idea but I cant see it taking off in this country. Like the others I too would be questioning the lines strength on my reel after fishing in rain. (which seems to be increasing year on year )
  8. Can anyone shed any light on this old rod I have acquired. Thanks in advance, Jack
  9. You should be able to buy it via the xbox dashboard or on the setting when you have signed into your account.

    Sky

when your on the phone to sky, just say the words " I've had enough, I'm swapping to Virgin" that's what I did and they cut our bill down £40. The connection was still crap so I then swapped to virgin
  11. Haha oh yes, plenty of them on the Blythe, cole, and other small midland rivers. But as Ken L said I have never caught one on the Severn or the Avon
  12. Oooo haha, sorry cannibal I thought you ment the one gozzer has in the second link. My bad
  13. Hi cannibal, I'm not Phone I'm afraid but I have the reel you are talking about. I can't help with the pin pick-up as I don't know what it is. (If you tell me I will look for you). The drag it good, you adjust it on the reel handle rather than the back of the reel like on open faced reels and as Phone said they are metal through and through. I learnt to fish with one so it has been used a fair bit and is in top condition so they last well. However they are a bit......compact (that's the word I'm looking for I think), if you imagine are winding in and you put your hand on the handle, well for me the handle was not as sticky out if you get what I mean, so I had you keep on looking where the handle was. But that could just be me being picky. Maximum lb line I would say is 5-6lb. Overall it's a good reel mate, I recommend it. Hope this helps Jack.
  14. Pike can be a good target in the winter however if your not very experienced with pike and unhooking them, I recommend you try to go with someone who is experienced, that's what I do . Chub and Perch on a small river will be my target this winter, perch I would say you can't beat lobworms mate. As for Chub on a still water I can't really give any advice as I haven't fished for them in still waters, however on a river, my tactic will be maggot feeders, might work on a Stillwater but as I said I have little experience on still water Chub. I dare say there is someone on here who has.
  15. Wow, I would love to be the seller when that happens
  16. I like looking at old photos of my family like these ones, and when you don't know who someone is it adds to the mystery of wanting to find out who they are and what they were like as a person.
  17. Do you know what species are in the pond mate? Is it just carp or a mixed coarse?
