  3. I never take the fish out of the landing net, I find that this tends to keep the fish quieter and makes the unhooking faster & less stress on the fish & after unhooking put landing net back in the water turn the net inside out & the fish swims away. Job done david

  5. Hi All, It would seem from what was said on country File today that, the Government are trying to finish the registration of all rare & endangered birds Bred & reared by Breeders. The Government say that it is not now necessary for the Government to be involved in the process, all it needs is for the bird to have a ring saying it was bred in captivity and for the Breeder to provide the Buyer with a certificate. This Certificate would have the same Number on it as the ring, also with the DNA of the bird in Question so that its perantage could be traced, But is this Good enough ? the RSPB says not, and are up in arms against it. The RSPB say that is fine for Breeders who are honest but, what about the Criminal Element they will just take birds out of the nest fake the Certificate & Dna and sell them on for Profit. Registration of a captive wild bird is £80-00 the breeder pays £20 Pounds to Register and the Government pay the other £60-00 and the RSPB say this is the real reason the Government want to end registration. The Reason the Government has given is, That Falconers are Complaining it is costing to much, and is boundup in to much red tape also not all birds of pray need to be on the protected list. I my self go along with the RSPB I know that ( in my own opinion)they somtimes go too far with rules for protecting birds,But I think they are right to be concerned with this What do you think David

  19. Hi All, I have enjoyed reading all the post!s about the march, I did not go myself due to a previous commitment but,I dont think I would have gone anyway. I have heard more about other country issues than fox hunting, by people who did go on the march and spoke about them on the Telly but, the interviewer still tried to get it round to Fox Hunting. I put the original post up to see what other people thought of the march and, also if they thought the Countryside alliance had made it a pro-hunting march. Something else that caught my Attention on the farming Program ( on Country file Sunday BBC 1 ) Interviewer asked this farmer if he was going on the march and, he replied " I would like to but, when I asked the Organiser if I could carry a Banner saying, I was not in Favour of Fox hunting, they said I would not be welcome so no Iam not going" So enough said ive got to go now will catch you all tomorrow. david [ 25. 21. Jim,I am sure that if the Firefighters get the 30,000 a year that they deserve then they will give up their part time jobs. But why just pick on them Jim, loads of other people have second jobs,Iam out of workat the moment but I dont begrudge them doing a second job. If they were paid a decent wage, then this would not happen,Try talking to those who Claim dole and, DSS money as well and work also. david

  23. Hi Every one, It seems from what the media are saying and showing, with interviews with most people that I have seen on the television. If you go on the march today, you are supporting hunting with dogs, no matter what you think you are marching for, the Countryside Alliance have swung it with the media into a support for hunting. I have seen very little of other related issues being voiced by other Country groups, except one lady of country origin saying & Holding a non cruel countryside open day today. This lady then made the following comment that all the Cruel countryside people will be on the march, while all the good countryside People will be staying at home supporting local issues. This to my mind says that the Countryside alliance has done a brillient job of putting the message across to the general public that, all the march is about is protesting against a ban on hunting. david
  24. Hi All, as Davidp has said, Ide & Golden Orfe are the same fish, its just that the golden orfe is a cultivated form of the Ide david
