  4. why take it so seriously its a forum for people to communicate on, and some of these people become friends, so what???? As said before if you dont like the thread dont get involved with it I think this is the best sea fishing forum out there at the moment  chill out and enjoy it for what it is KIR
  5. At one stage i was very much for a sea angling licence thinking we would have more say on how the seas are run. But outcomes like this, give me a feeling of dejavu most glimmers of hope we have are often just false hopes, just like the recent pair trawling ban!!!!!! I would rather give up sea angling than pay a licence, as i now feel it wouldnt improve anything They can work it!!!!! KIR
  6. Thanks for your efforts, i know what hard work you put in especially talking with my m8 Steve. But funnily enough the result doesnt surprise me What a complete bunch of W.....S

    matchfishing

Not fished any before are NFSA matches measure and release, points or weigh matches???? As this organisation should be setting the standards

    matchfishing

why oh why do a lot of competitions insist on total weight matches???? surely in this day of conservation, looking after the image of our sport etc Loads of dead just sizable fish is a terrible waste???? surely measure matches are the way to go??? Im sure many an angler wanting to take part in a match is put off by this waste and killing of tiny fish???? certainly puts me off many matches, and the last match i fished i put a sizeable whiting back, because i had no need for it i didnt want to kill it, no more weight only matches for me Just cant see the point in all that killing then chucking them back??? Match angling needs a big sort out, in my opinion!!!!!

  11. Steve, If you had to advise anybody to join a conversation organistaion who do YOU think would be the one to join, and would benefit the UK the best in the long run?????
  12. In my opinion measure and release is the way forward in matches, nobody likes to see dead fish for no reason. And the only reason i can see for retaining fish, is to eat them so no need to keep them alive then. Me personally i return 99% of my fish, nothing better than seeing them swim away un harmed. Terry
  13. would be good if there was deep water nearby :0) very hard to put a keepnet out on most beaches :0(
  14. oi oi Stevo, i have a m8 who would spend that on grub when he goes fishing LOL That would make the figures look a lot better You know him too
  15. To be honest, if there is no fish, greenpeace wouldnt have to do much to stop people fishing i support them on this one, dont mean i always will though Happy xmas Terry
  16. Yep interesting and our case put across very well, well done  lets hope it gave them something to think about!!!!
  17. well done Stavey ;0) I to have written letters in the past with mixed views in the replys, but just the fact that letters are going in strengthens our cause. Every letter sent counts even if you get a reply or not, and anybody who cares about our sport should send some letters to the local MP, EU etc expressing your views on how beneficial recreational fishing is to the economy and how destructive gill netting, pair trawling and commercial fishing is.

    licence update

i will happily pay £20 for a sea licence and hopefully it will help to improve our seas. The saying no pay no say comes to mind!!!! If the government realises how much money can be made through recreational sea angling of course we will have more say on the runnimg of our seas, as once they get used to the income they wont want to lose it. Also if you think by sitting back and hoping things will change is the answer, then the fight for fish in our seas is lost already!!!!! £20 its well worth the gamble in my eyes!!!!
  19. Mike, Do all inshore boat skippers feel the same???? If so then surely people like yourselfs would be able to help us anglers to stop the more destructive and unsustainable fishing methods
  20. Makes me laugh that the commercials are saying that the fish quotas are putting them out of business. At least by tough quotas there will be some work left for some of them. But by catching every living thing in the sea and killing it, you are putting yourself out of business. End of the day no fish - no living, so there is no choice conservation or everybody loses simple really
  21. I always hear the commercials talk about their living i.e dont you have sympathy for us as we need to catch fish to survive etc But their greed is also putting other people out of business eg Tackle shop owners bait diggers charter boat skippers do the commercial boys care about them??? reality is at the moment we are ALL losing out
