My finger can bear witness to that.
  2. Apparently Monsieur Chirac is proud to be likened to his hero - Charles De gaulle. If my memory serves me Charles De Gaulle likened himself to Napoleon. Napoleon, now wasn't he a warmongering dictator? Hmmmm......
  3. quote: when you have terrorists that are willing to fly planes into buildings and strap bombs across their chests sending them messages that your willing to remove them from the planet is laughable . What do you do then Yoxer? Appease them? Fear them? If you fear them, they have attained a moral victory. I feel that you are suggesting that we alter our way of life to prevent future acts of terrorism against us. That would be a victory for the terrorists. The fact that they are willing to carry out the acts that you have so graphically described, is more reason to remove them from the planet, preferably before they get a chance to act. Goerge Bush sure is getting one thing right.
  4. quote: You can not stop a terrorist , you can only find out why they take that route . I posted this article not because I felt it was justification for war, but because I felt that it was an example of how the entire Arab, muslim world acts and reacts and how it may be interpreted by those that feel threatened. For the real hawks in the US in particular (and after 9/11 I don't blame them), this type of public support for what the majority of people perceive as terrorists is tantamount to an act of aggression. The adjective 'terrorist' is applied from a point of view. But it is usually used to describe those that kill innocent civilians indiscriminately. I for one would include the Palestinian suicide bombers within that group. The Israeli army could also be described as terrorists, considering some of the dreadful acts commited by them. However, understanding why a terrorist "takes that route" does not alter the fact that they are a terrorist. Appeasing a terrorist is not an option. Removing them from the planet is in my view the only solution to stopping a terrorist and the only message that should be sent to any potential terrorist.
  5. Me too Newt! Specially with that CO.
  6. Cheating is cheating and should be removed from all sport. If the cameras prove beyond all reasonable doubt that a player has cheated, then that player should be severely punished, this is the only way to stamp it out. I believe that Keown was poked in the eye, I saw the game and that was the impression that I had. The laughable episode was a certain Brazilian player during the world cup, who obviously doesn't know his arse from his face. He should have been sent home, but FIFA have no bol**cks. The clear message there was that cheating is OK. Hopefully EUFA and the FA will begin to take a more serious view in the future.
  7. quote: • Representatives of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein gave checks totaling nearly $250,000 to families of Palestinians who have died during the Israeli-Palestinian conflict at a Gaza rally Wednesday afternoon. One family of a Palestinian suicide bomber received $25,000, while 22 families of Palestinians identified as having been killed either in stone-throwing incidents or during Israeli military incursions were given $10,000 each. The Arabic Front and the Ba'ath Party, two pro-Iraqi groups in Gaza, handed out the checks to the 23 Palestinian families in front of a crowd of about 500 in the Gaza City YMCA. This at least suggests that there are some tentative links between the view of Saddam's regime and the view of Al Quaeda. A public display of this type is in my opinion designed to increase tensions. While the French government are unwilling to consider any other way forward than their own (selfish) agenda. Good old SH carries on sticking the boot in, in any way that he can. The money reffered to in the report above, is probably not in itself undeserved by some of the Palestinians that have been murdered by the Israeli's. However, giving it to a family of a suicide bomber and doing it so publicly, cannot be described as 'the calming of troubled waters'.
  8. quote: keep trying there Peter , was it you that posted up the post about the three ships sailing round in circles loaded with wmd . More ground breaking news from Peters flying pig production company expected soon. Yoxer Where have you been? Welcome back mate, Ive missed you. I had to close my flying pig production co. some pseudo Geordie killed em all cos nobody would pay the ransom.
  9. Chesters You're starting to sound like Yoxer. Wonder where he's gone? Have you two ever been seen together?
  10. Chester You're counfused   After your last post you win my vote on the subject of this thread hands down.
  11. Nothing yet in west Wales, only about 300 metres from the sea. You just got real hard frogs up there.
  12. This might annoy some (well one hopefully), it'll probably bore most of you to tears after the last few days. But I just couldn't resist it.... A TOP secret Iraqi robot plane was last night hailed by Britain and America as the “smoking gun” to justify war. The banned “drone”, capable of dropping biological weapons, has been found by UN inspectors. Amazingly the plane was NOT declared by the team’s chief Hans Blix when he briefed the UN Security Council on Friday. Furious diplomats accused him of trying to cover up the discovery to avoid war by burying the pilotless plane’s existence in a 173-page document later given to foreign ministers. It is the first undeclared weapons programme found by the UN — and could sway wobblers to back a new resolution for war. An envoy for a wavering nation on the Security Council said last night: “It’s incredible. This report is going to have a clearly defined impact on the people who are wavering. It’s a biggie.” The allies will today demand Dr Blix gives more details. UN sources say the drone, with a 25ft wingspan and a range beyond that allowed by the UN, was found by a team led by a British inspector. The aircraft could be the same one mentioned in a warning by US Secretary of State Colin Powell a month ago. He said an unmanned Iraqi plane had flown non-stop for 500km. Mr Powell added that drones, if transported, could be used for attacks on the US and the west.
  13. Hi Craig As I said in my post above, if the water is fast and turbulent you need a very bouyant float. Grayling floats were designed for this type of water. I would advise you to ask at your local tackle dealers as they will know the water and the best tactics to fish the water. I'm sure that there will be other users of this forum that can help you with the stretch of water in question though. Hang in there, someone will help. Best of luck. Peter.
  14. quote: ( sigh ) stop bein sooooooooo pathetic Peter I'm not going to stoop to your level. You appear to resort to this type of thing when you have no further constructive comment. I wouldn't mind Yoxer, but when you make comments about soldiers, your ignorance of some matters shines through. Your entitled to your opinion and I respect that. But that's the word - respect.
  15. As a Southampton and Arsenal follower I've got to say that I for one think that ManU are still a football team that I love to watch. Even if they can't win anything. But I've got a sneaking suspicion about the Champions League.
  16. Hey Yoxer, found your real agenda. Your quote I believe (forwarded to me from someone that recognised your handle) quote: He must be deposed. There can be no delay in removing this man from office before the world suffers from his delusions and a thirst to be the dominant power not just in the ME, but a clear and immediate threat to the stability of the entire world. I vote that instead of marching in protest of the Iraqi war, we band together as one nation of many nations on this planet, and call for the UN to give their unquestioned support in removing this man immediately before the world suffers any further atrocities due to his actions and secure the safety of our future and that of our children. So lets' rid the world of this IMMEDIATE threat to our future safety! BUSH MUST GO ! Coo, he must have done something really horrible to you for you to dislike him so much. [ 08. 17. Hi Craig Don't know that river at all, however in no particular order, a few tips. You could be overshotting your float, i.e. too much weight for your float and it will never surface. You could be fishing too deep and the hooklength is dragging or catching the bottom. You need to select a float with suitable bouyancy for the speed of flow. If it's fast, turbulent water you need something more like a grayling float (very bouyant), right down to a small stick for slow, smooth glides. Choice of float size would also be determined by the size and weight of your hookbait and choice of targetted fish species. I am sure that there are many other good hints that more knowledgeable users of this forum will pass on. Stick with it, the learning process is part of the fun at your age.
  18. quote: its not fair (wail) i said almost the same as yoxer yet my post was not attacked could there be personal attacks going on ,peter you COULD attack me as well ( sob boo hoo) or is it your not reading mine due to past experiences ,in this case all is forgiven Time, I need more time to mature, I'm just a beginner learning my trade, I must practise, practise , practise, I must prepare before I am ready to face a ....master.
  19. Here, her Red Hillbilly It's something that some users of this forum cannot seem to appreciate. As posted by Yoxer quote: No , not if I didnt the know the reason why and I suspect a great deal of soldiers on all sides havnt a clue why, other than some sad git telling them its for a good reason son . Yoxer, I see that you're now speaking for most soldiers. How very kind of you, thank you very much, can't say how much we all appreciate it. You see, I took a quick 'straw poll' of a few current servers and a few of my old mates, and they all asked me to pass on their eternal gratitude for your going out of your way like that to speak for all of us. Or words to that affect....
  20. quote: The system we have is hardly a pure form of democracy. We let technocrats make the major decisions. Most of what we all hold in our heads is nonsense, and we happen to prefer our own nonsense to someone else's. The word democracy is thrown around as though it it is intrinsically good. Can you imagine if decisions were made on the basis of where the majority of ignorance lay. It would be hard to devise a more foolhardy system. Something like the above. Strange thing is I find myself in the position of agreeing with you absolutely on the facts in the second paragraph above. As for the typing in of 'Bush lies' in a search engine. The results are posted by people of a similar mindset to you and is consists of conjecture, opinion, hearsay and dare I say it ....lies.(although I readily admit I don't have absolute proof)
