  1. I had the same issues Keith and I use an iPad.
  2. Next time I see you I will give you a dozen to try. They are ok and each wire holds one stop which stops messing about trying to get the second one off.
  3. I hadn't read your signature before; very original. I've caught a few of those too.
  4. I use quick change swivels on the float and float stops. I bought hundreds of float stops from China and if you double up( they cost next to nothing) top and bottom they stay in place.
  5. Go on Ian take it as you'll do it justice.
  6. There is freedom of movement within the Eu but most come here come to work, pay taxes and contribute to our society. There are exceptions but they are few . The majority of émigrées are from Africa, the Middle East and other non EU Countries . They will continue to come even after Brexit. I would say the majority are economic migrants. I know from a professional capacity of a family of refugees comprising 2 adults and 6 children purporting to be fleeing oppression in the DRC. They arrived in this country with no papers . To cut a long story short the parents were not married and were not the parents of any of the children. None of the children were related and none of them were from the DRC. The parents were deported to Ghana and Mozambique respectively and the 6 children are here in care and will remain so at our expense until they are at least 18. This country was and will continue to be put to considerable expense which has nothing to do with the EU. We should have refused to allow all of them in. This will continue after Brexit . The Tories have failed miserably to cut immigration. We have an expanse of water that helps us and we should make more use of it. Nobody milks social services as there are no funds available. Benefits are not given out like biscuits and this is another lie from the Brexiteers. The number of Somalis going to Sweden is tiny. There are only 10 million people in the whole of Sweden which is twice the size of the UK. They can have as many as they like beyond the arctic circle. I despair at the lies being propagated by the ignorant and the willingness of others to believe them. The refugee situation would exist within or without the EU.
  7. Cracking fish again Ian. It's amazing what you can achieve with an unsuitable float lol. I only put my post about shotting on fm because I couldn't access the forums on here. My trotting leaves a lot to be desired.
  8. Sorry for the delay Keith in thanking you for your post of the Castella ad. That was the one. Classic if you'll pardon the pun.
  9. I received the same message continuously for several days ; I thought it was something i said. Several proposed posts went elsewhere .
  10. I've just stumbled across the following, but my instinct tells me it's just hogwash, surely??? You are correct! It's a load of b******. It doesn't merit a response beyond that.
  11. I was a working man and voted remain. I would still do . We are still a sovereign nation. We can control our borders and immigration issues are not EU orientated and will continue even if we leave . I voted to go fishing today . However before I set off I decided where I was going, how I would get there, what I needed to take with me, what I might need in poor weather and how I was going to do it . Shame the leavers didn't think it through.
  12. Brexit remains( pun intended) the most divisive issue in British politics since the corn laws and will remain so. It's also a terrible distraction at great cost to the future of our nation. We could do without it. We may not survive it intact.
  13. We didnt sign up for the EU as it is now we signed into the version we entered in 1974 which was far different I didn't sign up to the current media, news, trivial reality and twitface hysteria either but sadly we are where we are. The world is a poorer place and our bit of it will either improve if you are right or go down the pan if I am. On verra !
  14. He was a very good speaker imo. A labour one will be next.
  15. The EU or EEC is the sum of its members . If it wasn't it wouldn't exist. Members trade with each other. How far are you going back to " our European friends " trying to rule us? I assume 1939 and Germany and you would be right in that regard. I am still amazed at the degree of forgiveness granted by Poland, France, Benelux etc to what was a dispicable invasion only 80 years ago. I recently learned that Germany received petrol from Russia during the Battle of Britain until Hitler invaded Russia when they switched allegiance to the Allies. I digress. The EU is not perfect but being in it is better than being out imo. Arguably the EU was designed to bring peace and stability in Europe and between its members it has succeeded . The Balkan countries were not in it and should never have been after what went on less than 30 years ago.
  16. No they couldn't. Don't you remember the military invasion by Russian tanks into Hungary and Czechoslovakia or didn't they happen just like the saving of 350 million per day when we leave? I think you meant to say " if we have sovereignty " which we do. We signed up to the Human Rights Act and will abide by its basic tenets whether we remain or leave. The EU is its members.
  17. If we had no power and no sovereignty we would not have been able to have a referendum in the first place. Do you think during the Warsaw Pact era that Poland or Hungary could have held a referendum on their continued membership. That is loss of sovereignty. The regulations and laws which emanate from the EU are not made by unelected bureaucrats as Farage alleges, but are considered by law makers in Brussels at the behest of the member states ( all 28) who are then consulted on the proposals made and then and only then, if there is unanimity( or a majority dependant on the subject matter) are the new regulations made. In simple terms no new regulations have been passed against the wishes of the UK and those that have have been incorporated already into our written legislation and will likely remain permanently.
  18. Nice fish Ian. Were you were I think you were?
  19. Absolutely not. If we leave there will be a giant black hole in their finances with perhaps 2 countries which could make up the shortfall. They won't do it so problems will ensue. We will become an isolated island nation with enormous issues and unhappiness. It could be worse than the cricket.
  20. The water colour is natural and indicative of the clay bed and substrata .
  21. That didn't stop them accepting Eire, Cyprus, Malta, Slovenia, and Portugal .
  22. I've decided to stay local today where we fished Ian as I may have to come home early if youngest dotter puts in an appearance. Chernobyl is the nickname for a beautiful new fishery where the water is a greenish blue colour. Ian a guy told me that a water treatment had been added to kill algae but that may not be correct. I'll ask the bailiff when I see him.
