  1. Not sure about mandatory Phone but diesel vehicles that are set up to use DEF show a significant performance reduction if the fluid is not available. Engine load will affect the amount used - my truck uses about 5 gallons per thousand miles when not under load but it drops to about 5 gallons per 500 miles when under load such as when pulling my somewhat heavy caravan. If I run out, my truck's performance takes a serious hit in both fuel mileage and speed. A son-in-law drives a large refuse hauling vehicle for a city and uses about 5 gallons per day. If he runs out, his speed and acceleration are seriously affected and he can barely haul a full load of trash at about 1/2 his normal speed. I have a 6.6 liter Duramax engine in my truck. Here is the performance info for that engine. Note that I have not allowed myself to run out of DEF so I cannot swear this is accurate but I imagine it is. 55mph (miles per hour) at first and dropping to 4 mph is not a thing I want to experience. LML DURAMAX DEFThe LML Duramax is equipped with a SCR system that requires the use of DEF (diesel exhaust fluid). DEF is injected into the exhaust stream where a chemical reaction occurs that reduces NOx emissions. The DEF tank is approximately 5 gallons (18.9 liters). On pickup trucks, the DEF tank fill nozzle is located on the passenger side, under the hood and is sealed by a blue cap. On vans, the DEF tank fill nozzle is located in the fuel fill door, and is also sealed by a blue cap. The DEF system will illuminate a warning indicator in the instrument panel when the DEF fluid levels range is estimated to be 1,000 miles. Subsequent warnings will follow. • If the DEF fluid level is depleted, an "EXHAUST FLUID EMPTY" notification will be displayed on the instrument panel. Upon restart, the truck will be speed limited to 55 mph. If the tank remains empty, speed will be limited to 4 mph after the second refueling. Performance may also suffer when the truck enters this mode. • If the DEF fluid quality is detected to be low, an "EXHAUST FLUID QUALITY POOR" notification will be displayed on the instrument panel. After 200 miles of driving with poor quality DEF, the truck will be speed limited to 55 mph. If the system continues to detect low quality DEF, speed will be limited to 4 mph upon the next refueling. • If the DEF system detects that it requires service, a "SERVICE EXHAUST FLUID SYSTEM" notification will be displayed on the instrument panel. Failure to have the system serviced within 200 miles will result in speed limited to 55 mph upon the next startup, and 4 mph on the next refuel.
  2. Does your vehicle use Diesel Exhaust Fluid (I think AdBlue® is the most common in your area) ? If so it almost certainly emits way fewer NOx pollutants than any petrol auto. Its a requirement here for any newer vehicles including buses.
  3. Woodstock in 1969 was certainly something unique and exciting if drugs, sex, rain, overcrowding, music, etc. appealed to you and you were one of the 400,000 who were actually at the event. I was a few thousand miles west of there and missed the whole thing. Ah well. I regret missing performances from Janis Joplin and the readily available sex (before some idiot invented AIDS) but probably not much else.
  4. In this context, "timber" would mean a small tree trunk or a piece of lumber. I suggested the heavy b/s braid to give some abrasion resistance. If your terminal tackle (leader, hooklength, whatever) is a much lower b/s you would expect any break off to occur there rather than somewhere in mainline.
  5. The rod will easily handle quite a bit higher b/s. I'd probably opt to use good braid mainline (50/60 lb b/s) to avoid the memory, stretch, bulk of mono and use a mono leader/hooklength of a b/s to match the bait, lure, cover conditions and likely target fish where I was fishing. That way you could easily switch from light to medium to heavy mono line for the leader.
  6. This one seems to have peaked at 1.4 meters but this quake is being reported as an aftershock of the 2011 biggie and their earthquake experts are warning that another big one is likely within the next week or so.
  7. LOL - I like the way you write. You do, indeed, have a way with words.
  8. Welcome to Anglers' Net. Those are some really great looking monster pike and interesting ice fishing videos - especially for those of us who've never fished through a hole in the ice.

You could certainly use it but it would not be much fun. Hard to cast light rigs, hard to notice the expected light bites, and a smaller fish would give you no real play with a fairly heavy rod such as yours is. Medium (7+ kilo) carp and medium shore (sea) fishing is its niche. I use a 1.75 T/C rod for fishing rivers with moderate flow when I expect carp or buffalo (US fish not found in the UK) and catfish (again, US species rather than Wels) from 10-20 kilos. I agree with Neil about a good float rod being a great way to start. It would also handle any carp you might expect to catch.

    Hello

Hi and welcome to Anglers' Net.
  11. Putting aside a lot of the nonsense, the results were pretty simple. Ms Clinton was the overwhelming choice for quite a few large blocks of potential voters - Latinos, Blacks, Young (18-25 years old) voters, etc. Had they voted in large numbers she would have won. The didn't, she didn't.
  12. The phrase, "tempest in a teapot" applies to those riots. Check again in a couple of weeks to see if they continue.
  13. I'm not at all sure our basic views really differ although the labels are pretty different. For the record, I really don't like Trump very much. I just happen to like Clinton (either of them) a lot less. Had Bernie Sanders been a choice, I'd have voted for him.
  14. To give a simple answer, no. Use whichever device you are most comfortable with.
  15. By hand - no. With a roofing coil nailer - yes. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=roofing%20coil%20nailer
  16. I'm not certain but as I understand it, he could be impeached and in that case, the Vice President elect would assume the Presidency.

    Where now?

Clinton's support among many "groups" (African Americans, Latinos, Young {18-24 years old} was overwhelming - from 2:1 to 4:1 over Trump. Problem was, they didn't turn out to vote in large enough numbers to affect the result. All the major political experts were sure she would win handily. Since these experts have been wrong from the beginning, is it possible they are also wrong about how he will perform as President? I certainly hope so. A President who was not a politician for most of his adult life will certainly be a novel change.
  18. Yup. Can. Impeachment in the United States
  19. When one of these creatures makes a post it is flagged in yellow/orange as unapproved for John and I and is invisible to you. We then remove all posts from that person and disable the account. However, they may manage to do the "friend" thing before trying to post and we wouldn't see that.
  20. Hello Dian and welcome to Anglers' Net.
  21. I don't forsee a long life for that lizard unless it learns to avoid such rough neighborhoods.
  22. You can sue pretty much anyone for just about anything. Winning the suit is another matter altogether.
  23. Just finished day 1 of 3 days we've booked this week with Capt. Mike. Nine different species caught with Bobbi using shrimp and me a shrimp Gulp lure. Fun stuff. Targeting red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) tomorrow.
