Ken L They do cast very well when wet,as J.K.states 20grms when wet will get 20-30 yards depending on rod, braid, i use a 30-60grm rated rod with 35lb Tiger braid,the conical head aids casting and the whole thing is pretty aerodynamic when wet.

Hi Dales i have a few of these lures, and have used them for pike,not had a lot on them...yet. think they are more of a summer lure.Will be changing the treble to a single so it will become more weedless. If you want to fish it deeper put a large split shot on the front of the lure or you might try clipping a old small spinner on the front to give some vibration and flash.still have high hopes for this lure as it's being a new lure out over here, will give it at least one season.would think it's a killer in mangroves/flats etc first thing i do after a day out and using this lure is dry them out with the hairdryer,don't know if it helps them stay in good nick

4 Hours on my local canal pike fishing yesterday,no snow in Exeter but damn cold, frost lasted all day in shade and ground was rock hard.Cat ice formed overnight on water....and i blanked one women running even had the cheek to suggest i was mad fishing in this weather, theres me in a two piece thermal suit and her in a flimsey jogging bottoms and a trak suit top..said pot calling kettle black love

Fulfilment,peace and quite(sometimes) and challenge to outwit a wild, wily,fish enjoyment of nature and surroundings and if i catch a fish or two thats a bonus, people who moan about blanking should not take up angling, there is not a guarantee to catch fish, its you against a fish, Its like so many things today, instant gratification must have, will have, and if we can't achieve it we moan. Angling it not like that..at least traditional angling,if you want to just catch fish, go to a commercial and fill your boots on carp..

We are entering in to a La nina so might end up with a mild winter..but there has also been a solar minimun and the PDO has entered its negative phase jet stream has moved back south over the last few years,and there has been a tendency for northern blocking high pressure to the north/north east of the uk plus we had a cool/cold winter in 2008-09 and its said that the uk gets a cluster of cold winters so we could been in for a cold one again..but not as cold as last winter i think it will be a mild start with cool/cold periods but the later winter will be very cold, as is often the case in la nina's

Good post,i'd like to go further and have the tackle shops being able to ask to see licence's when buying bait etc. But more than anything i would like to see more bailiffs especially when the waethger turn's warmer and sunnier,thats when you get all and sundry fishing

Jealous No, just it that the bailiff badge you carry for obvious reason's does not sit well with your own set of convictions on the issue of license requirements If you find some one you did not know without a license would you report them. And what would happen if you found a friend without a license.....conflict of interest i think it's called OR too much self interest.

yes i know,but snow and ice are suppose to be become very rare and infreqent,the last two winter have proved otherwise, and this report if from the WWF,you know the same lot that said the himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035,which turned out to be a mistake and should have read 2350, the EA and met office have said our winters would be much wetter!!!! you go figure ho's right?????
