  1. Once peed out of my bedsit window, the downstairs neighbour thought it was raining so went outside to get his washing in. You can guess the rest He was a moany git though
  2. Took my young un fishing yesterday when we got home he told his mam he had fallen in She went up the wall, came back down rather quickly when he told her it was an April fool
  3. You should be fine with a six or an eight depending on their size. Rudd put a guide up not too long ago about elastic rating and b/s of line. It might be worth a look
  4. Found this it is an ideal all-rounder with an elastic rating 14
  5. Depends on the whip. If it has a flick tip is shouldn't need elastic, as Hermes said. If it has a hollow tip go for a light elastic. I have kitted my sons out with a six and it performs well enough. Mark
  6. Why should the CA have to join FACT to represent 25000 of it's own members? The CA has not hijacked angling, perhaps it is just acting on behalf of it's members who go fishing.
  7. So Graham seriously, who's your money on to be the voice of angling?
  8. Graham I'll think you'll find Peter Waller does more to publicise the CA than any other poster. A day doesn't seem to go by where he doesn't get the odd mention in. By the way shouldn't you be stalking Sportsman? ( Note smileys)
  9. Peter Do you have link to the results of the survey?
  10. See the paste thread Mr Impatient
  11. Sorry forgot. The ACA seemed to fall apart over the James' occurence.
  12. Fishing is fishing is fishing is fishing. We all try to catch a fish with a hook. Unless of course some of you know different. The CA represent it's members, some 25 000 anglers. FACT represents how many? I have no idea. The NFA as I see it supposedly assist match angling, match anglers aren't exactly over the moon with the NFA. Look for any threads on any match forums to do with Fishomania tickets. The Carp Society supposedly represent Carp Anglers. Carp anglers are trying to overturn the commitee (or were last I heard, maybe they've kissed and made up now) because they are not happy about the way the commitee is doing it's thing. Other commitees I don't know about so perhaps if someone else does they can inform us of any harmony or otherwise amongst their ranks. It seems that by being a member of any of the groups under the FACT umbrella the main thing I can do is pour scorn on other organisations, going on this thread. If I join the CA I can at least get insurance, if I join any of the FACT groups I can put some letters after my name.
  13. Instead of the piece of grass use a maggot, the maggot will wriggle off and you are left with just the meat. No bit of grass that looks like a bit of weed
  14. Lobworms and corn always used to do the business for me.
  15. You could try to get new sections for it. Depending on it's age depends how available they are. There are usually a couple of adverts in match mags for pole repairs.
  16. Perhaps memberships could be done by a bit of free advertising on websites such as this. If the details were put in a thread and people wanting to sign up could. Ok so Fact would probably need someone to make out the membership forms and get them sent out but surely the cost of membership would cover this as well as having a bit left over for the fighting fund
  17. I, as far as I know, am not a member of any of the groups being brought together to form FACT. I would like to be included in thier membership as I hope would all anglers. What about people who don't join clubs but would like to be part of FACT. I would gladly pay £5 for a years membership as I'm sure many other would so what is the problem with getting this underway. If I join the NFA I suppose I would be a member of FACT but how much of the membership fee would go to FACT and hopefully the future of angling.
  18. Taken from the BBC. Feedback is the BBC Network Radio listeners' feedback programme, produced for Radio 4 by an independent production company, and presented by Roger Bolton. Feedback's content is entirely directed by the letters, emails and faxes it receives from listeners. Mark Damazer, controller of radio 4 is taking part in a webchat on Friday 18 March. Send in a question for him here http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/factual/feedback.shtml
  19. And what have FACT done about it? WE should all E-Mail the BBC and give them our thoughts about this. We as anglers should stop all the bickering and put our efforts into promoting angling instead of putting down other organisations.
  20. As chesters1 pointed out you can get a poll to say anything, stand outside Smiths and ask everyone comming out if they shop at Smiths. Going on that poll the VAST majority of people shop at Smiths
