    Thank You

Has somebody left?? Cant notice the diffrence???
  2. Samuel, I must apologise, I knew there was something bugging me about your post. And after reading it a dozen times i finaly clicked on(DOH) that you meant crabs that have been trawled rather than anglers trawling crabs as bait. I soppose your sentance could mean iether or but ill assume its the lesser of 2 evils. But onto that. It certainly not anglers who are trawling the crabs up is it...
  3. i have always wanted to change to a 2 piece for many reasons, recently i seen a post somewhere where some1 raised an interesting point that made me think abit. Would the wind blow up the top making you colder than it would be with a 1 piece?
  4. quote: Many anglers use trawled crabs for bait, theseare often trawled in bass and mullet nersury areas, ripping the sea bed up as they go. Hmm This is the most confusing argument i think ive ever heard from anyone! For a start. I dont think many(if any at all) anglers actualy trawl crabs, Maybe its just me but ive never heard of this... Through bass and mullet nursery areas...Even if anglers did this. Ok so the bass would have go at crab. But most anglers now adays would put em back. And what mullet would ever touch a crab bait?? Especialy trawled??? The most amusing part of your post is when you say ripping the seabed up as they go. Lost for words on that. Errrrrrrmmmm HOW!!!??????? Please elaborate on that for me. Unless im missing something. In which case i humbily appologise...   !!!
  5. 71 posts in an hour.. u guys made some kind of a record i wonder??
  6. Paula. Ive not fished on those cliifs, But fished under them whilst i was staying at stromness. We could touch the cliff face with our rods, and the fishing was awesome there in realy rough gground. Cod an ling to 8lb plus much bigger beasties lost They are impressive and realy are huuuge. The old man of hoy is a site also...
  7. "Wot tackle are we talking BTW?" This is porgey country Tiggs, We shall have to nick some of Davys skate rods Appart from that i ere the coalfish up there average 4lbs!!!!Big ling, And large cod that go to double figures, I havent a clue what gear tlo use. I soppose Davys secretary can sort me out in that department!!!??? If not i might splash out on my 1st boatrod:)
  8. Dont have time, Thats utter tripe. Cant take much longer than a few seconds. Well done on all the hard work all who are concerned, I m sure your efforts will have helped greatly in insuring we have skate to catch in many years to come
  9. This is a popular opinion and realy can help boost catches, ANd no it doesent have to be pitch black, SOmetimes the fishing can go mad the 2 hours iether side of the sun going down,Cos even then there is very little light shining on the water,So many times ive been fishing and right through the day ive been only getting a few, But just as the sun dipps, they go mental, And on one occasion i ended up catching 50 odd fish just in the hour the sun went down(mainly haddies and whiting)Coincidence??? doubt it. I think for some species it would be better to be pitch black right enough. The smaller fish feel more secure to come out and feed in the darkness to avoid predators, and i soppose the predators click onto this and follow in around darkness. This goes for fishing daytime aswell in shallower marks, Dull gloomy days are often more productive than when the sun is blazing down. You read and see about all the animals on our planet that are most active at night, especialy for feeding, I guess fish are the same. Also remember though a lion would not reject an easy meal just because its daytime, So iether would fish.

  16. The trouble with most of the federations is: There more worried about how they are gonna afford to help send there world team to such and such a country or affording social events like **** ups than they are about spending money on conservation... At the moment any money going to the fedarations would probably go to these sorta things i think..
  17. Norm, Isnt the NFSA realy just englash?? Why do all the teams that come from the NFSA are known as Team england...??? Dont think they do an awfulll lot of work in any of the other countries, Mind you iether do the feds that are sopposed to be for there country:) Answering davys question No Yes Yes Possibly
  18. Now theres a thaught Paula, Should i bring my south african "assassin" Bronzie basher in january...??? Im shure it would tame a porgie Think ide need to updrade the 525 mag 1st though Ill stick one of davys skate reels on the bottom
  19. hmm i donno if i have 1 particular most fond memory of this year... Heres a few that will always stick in the old nut:) ... Fishing with the skatemiester up at lochaline and catchinmg my 1st skate of 85lbs..WHAT an experience And then again going back up to lochaline on the catchalot and witnessing some huge skate bieng caught by some mates, Not forgeting MY PB shore fish of a 13lb conger coming from under the boat up at lochaline... Another special moment for me wasnt actualy whilst fishing, but connected with, Was when i got my acceptance letter for the scottish jnr team, I was so proud of myself couldnt stop smiling for days, ANd bieng part of the team down at folkstone in june was something else also.. Even if we lost... Not forgetting when i recently met one of my angling idols. And even went out and caught a few cod for the camera... EVEN spending the night almost hypothermic in a tent all night whilst p*ssing down and a gale blowing has braught about an experience, And has taught me, NEVER to do something so F*ing stupid again... Its strange i seem top have almost a photographic memory when it comes to fishing, I can remember NEARLy every trip and catch down to the tee that ive had this year, and near enough the ones of previous years... Oh happy happy days LEts hope 05 brings about more fond memories for everyone, and ohh yess, i will be driving by then (hopefully) So all the more fishing to be done santa
  20. Paul (spanner) How did you get on the other night on Etive???
  21. Was a good enoyable night, Does get up my wick at times when i just canny catch a fish tho.. Does make it enjoyable at least when folk you are with are catching a few, Most frustrating thing was, Everyone else(even those who also blanked) was getting half hearted spurdog runs, and bites, I couldny even get that, Personaly i think my mate put me on a duff spot Iether that or Kenny from here put a curse on it, As i was on the exact bit he had his fish from the other night, Heres to the next blank,
  22. Hi Folks, just back from a trip to Loch Etive, And as the topic suggests, Yes i blanked(3rd in a row) But my mates caught some good fish for the shore, so i thaught ide let you know, We fished On the same shoreline of etive as the priory last night, My MAte gareth got the only spur, bieng 4.5lbs, He also got a 4lb thornie shortly after, He had some of his mates with him too, ANd they had a few thornies, and one of them caught an 11lb conger, Thats totaly unheard of from the bottom of etive..!!(Dercember...WTF is going on ere???) Anyway last cast Gareth got the biggest Thornback ray ive seen in the flesh, It was just shy of 8lb, Made my night realy, Though i woulda still liked a fish, Ach well, Tleast i wasnt the only one for a blank DAVY/NORRIE Just to rub the salt in the wound, demon The weather wasnt to bad at all up there, Ok so a bitter easterly breeze(not too strong) But the water pretty calm, ANd Clear skies, Although quite abit of snow was on the hills and on the side of road around tyndrum!! Pretty much an echo of last year i fear, Where i hardly had a fish for 3 months through the end of winter. Nooooo Shaun (useless..But not giving up)
  23. Ouch, And i have another cold night to look forward to on etive then, At least this time i have a car to look forward to, And heating
