  1. So did I the first time I went. I found that you have to fish very tight to the islands. If you can get onto the middle island that seems to be the best bet.
  2. I would recommend a Snowbee Prestige for a floating fly line, they are excellent. You must also be pretty close to me, I'm in Lancaster. [ 21. June 2005, 01:23 PM: Message edited by: dunc85 ]
  3. Wouldn't you use % rather than px? px will take up 700 pixels no matter what resolution. But % will resize to take up a percentage of the screen. However, the only proper way to do it is to make a version for each resolution.
  4. you think after a fight on that tackle the fish would have been able to swim away?
  5. A big stork brings them...ask your mother
  6. Well, you could try a cat's whisker if you don't want to be imatative. But at the moment there's loads of naturals hatching: buzzers - would be where i'd start small olive lure - especially if there's damsel nymphs hares ear If fish are rishing, some kind of small black dry or a suspender buzzer. It all depends on the water itself. There may even be olives/mayflies hatching.
  7. Usually use a floating fry or a bit of wool tied to a hook. And yes they do take it.
  8. Marabou damsel cats whisker black buzzer (as long as im allowed a sight bob too!)
  9. Do the thing where you request their contact details and phone him every day...maybe every hour...
  10. get a snowbee! great lines and british too!
  11. Looks like I'll be needing a new one after breaking my net on a 6lb rainbow yesterday
  12. have al ook on ebay. Just had a very quick look and there's loads on there, mostly under £15
  13. Well, just to confuse things further, the tippet is often used by the Americans to refer to what we often call the leader. but, as to whether you have to use one, theres two options. you could buy a tapered leader and attach a 'tippet' to the end, as described above. Or you can simply attach a length of level leader/tippet to your fly line, then tie the fly on the end of that. Saves messing around joining lines together.

  16. Well...no, seeing as the critical update notification thing is a default part of the browser so should pretty much be safe i.e. its not a random popup.
  17. The icon remaing is a bug, at least it was in earlier versions. Just to to Help > About Mozilla Firefox and check you're running version 1.0.1

    ANGEL HAIR

www.fmtc.co.uk has 'Lite-Brite Hanked (Angel Hair)' so perhaps you could search for that.
  20. I've just got some of these and I tried them out today. They worked great, but I have trouble keeping them on the hook after theyve been mauled by fish. I started by threading them onto the hook, so the shank goes through the body, but they seem to rip off pretty easily, especially when using a thinner section. Any ideas?
  21. That's possible, have a look in your Norton Quarantine and delete anything there. What exactly do you mean by archive?
  22. The fact is that the farming of salmon DOES affect the wild fish: The sandeels used in pellets are the food of the wild fish, but they are literally hoovered up from the sea in order to make the pellets. The fish cages are rife with sea lice, and as the wild salmon pass the cages on their way into the rivers, they catch these lice. Then there's the escapes of farmed salmon, competing for food and interbreeding with the wild fish. And also the huge amount of waste and pollution the farms produce. So you see, the farms really are the problem.
  23. At my local fishery I had the misfortune of catching two of these fish in one day - the only two fish that i got as well! They fight really poorly and it looked as if the scales were "bubbling" off, pretty disgusting. Whenever I go to the place, I see the same fish swimming around covered in the stuff, but its been there since at least September.
  24. How do you mean it ceases to work? does it lock up or stop loading pages? ditch IE and get firefox

    Help please

I would go for better lines, as personally I just use the reel for storing the line and prefer to play fish by hand. I've had my rimfly reel for years, and its great.
