  5. dont forget a few slices of bread, Punched can work when cold and clear. Good luck
  6. Have to agree with Seph, The 1044 is the closed faced reel I would choose, I would steer clear of long trotting with open faced bail arm reels myself, ( purely a personal thing ) Have fun finding out what suits you best.
  7. Hi Fordy and thanks for the offer, As others I am fishing the Itchen in Feb and looking at fishing Timsbury the following day and would welcome your feedback on your day out, Which part are you fishing by the way?
  8. Can we bottle some of Pauls stuff and flog it on E-Bay then we can buy maggots.
  9. Hi dan, from wroxham down forget targeting the chub, with the expected cold temperature the trotting will be hard going also, In my humble opinion find a boatyard or backwater where the silvers shoal up and fish for the pike, loads of great places around wroxham, horning. Have a great day.

Definately free heating ( cost it into your price and hope they dont notice!) plenty of bath/shower mats, plenty of soap/bacterial handwash, good selection of dvd`s and tapes, outside floodlight and directions to the nearest pub, chinese and indian resaurant. ( If i ever book forget the bit about adding the energy costs to your price )

Budgie, I have just found the contact no for jimmys and spoke to a lovely lady "Jackie" and I have explained our predicament and she is more than willing to allow us to have a block booking but there would be a maximum of 20 anglers @ £10.00 per swim and £10.00 per additional rod. It is about 10 miles from the Dartford crossing and has some basic amenities with 2 pubs close by. Her son was out this week and had 16 cats in four hours!!. You can book any day from 7am until 7pm and unfortunately they do not allow under 16 years to fish I will pm you the contact details ( forgot to write the number down )
  15. No such problems with livebaiting.
  16. Jerry, I`ve seen the pictures mate, Sensible approach!
  17. I tend to favour livebaits when fishing around my local county ( kent ) but am comfortable fishing deads as well, However when I turn my attention to the Bure in Norfolk I definately favour livebaits and find they hugely outscore deads for both quantity and size, Possibly because I fish the areas the siver fish move to in winter.
