  4. I would like to give the river Windrush a go, but with not living in the area I have no knowledge of the river and not much on the internet. So I am looking for some one with the information about the river, like good spots to try for Chub, Dace and big Roach, I am not looking for hot spots but it would be nice. Any day ticket information, local club, tackle shops and general information. If you do not want to put it on the forum, then just see me a PM.

  7. What is the EA doing for angling? I pay along with most anglers £23.50 this year and what will it be next year? What is the EA doing with my and yours money? We have problems with alien crayfish. I have read the EA Doc reference:TC206/05IJ environment-agency.gov.uk/news/...=&withoutwords= It look like we are to do there work for them, maybe we should ask for them to pay for our time. Eastern Europeans stealing fish, the stock of carp in my local canal is so bad that I only see the a few anglers, only two years ago I used to see 15 to 20 anglers at weekends, I once was witness to a large carp being put in to a black bin liner by the 3 guys so I called the police when the police arrived some 2 hours later the 3 guys had long gone, on phone the EA the next day only to be given the run the round past from person to person and finely after ¾ hours to be told the person I need to speak to was out and they would get them to phone me back that was some 10 weeks ago. This it fare that when I would like to fish a third rod that I have to buy a second rod licence at £23.50 Do you as anglers think we should be asking the EA for help or just stop buying the rod licence? Maybe it’s about time we all stud up and had a go at the EA. At least when we had the NRA we new they was not going to help.
  8. I had a great day fishing with Rick, caught my first ever Thames Chub at 5lb and 6lb 5oz he gave me the confidence I was lacking and now I know what to look for when I visit a new river and baits to try. You can find is phone number HERE he runs a web site for a local club.
  9. For my Barbel fishing I use the following rod and lines, it pays to get a quality line and to make shore it is load on the reel correctly. I have used two types for line my first choice is GR60 and second Maxima, I am trying out some newest line Riverge Reel-Soft which is very promising I have only try this in 6lb but will be trying 10lb this weekend as I am on the Thames. I think one of the biggest problems with any one how starts to fish for Barbel is there they sit on there hands, I always have my hand on the rod at all time, once the fish has a head start on you it is some times head to turn. Always wet the knots before pulling them tight and not with (saliva) only use water. 7lb main line and 5lb hook length Bruce and Walker hand built Barbel rod 1.3/4 t.c (glass) small rivers 8lb main line and 6lb hook length 1.3/4lb t.c. JW Barbel for rivers like W.Avon 10lb main line and 8lb hook length 11 foot 3 in Tony miles century pulse Barbel big rivers like Thames, Trent

  11. I bet it was a carp. I used to be a bully once. I have now stop it its far more fun on light tackle. Hook pulls. This is bad just look at state of some of carp’s mouth in the over prices carp ponds. Bad anglers = bad fish need one say any more.
  12. Welfare of the fish should always come first, after all what are you going fish for when there all dead. As for hooking a goose I know how you fill as I have done this with a duck once and it stop me fishing for a long time. In my view I do not think you can float fish and float bread at the same time. Rizla
