  1. i have the sti and i think its great a mate has the armo specimin and he is selling it if your interested only been used a few times mate!
  2. another person with prodigy's problems. The t/c on the rods are more than adequate it seems you have got one of a dodgy batch of rods that were sold within the uk! (i had the same problem) take the rods back and get them replaced mate then try again. I use 2 3/4 ESP reflex rods and i chuck out massive bags with no problems at all [ 09. 3. i wouldnt recommed badger baits they look nasty! as they are so cheap i wouldnt be surprised if they are full of chemical presertives! If you are going to be fishing a lake regular it is worth putting in a decent bait that the fish will feed on with no problems that way they will go looking for your bait!
  4. try www.catcherbaits.co.uk i get all my stuff from there mate. If you tell him i told you to tryhim he will do you a good deal mate. His name is frank he now does hi-attract pellets to match you chosen bait flavour
  5. i have the chub brolly only held in by 6 pegs what could be quicker to move than that?
  6. My mate has just got one and he rates his highly he does a lot of overnighters in it and has just invested in the overwrap! I thought about getting one but went for the chub reflex brolly system instead. I prefer the brolly type system as you get more headroom and if it does rain you can just quickly zip in the front for full protection.
  7. Fish sauce is good for dipping baits in! be carefull as you will soften the mixer if you add a liquid to it so it may come off the hair. The best way to do this would be to attach the mixer with a bait band and then dip the mixer before you cast. This way you will have a mixer with a high attract coating on it.
  8. Try Pre-Baiting if you are allowed! Spend a bit of time watching the water this way you will have some clue's where the larger fish may be feeding then put in a good quality bait frequently this way the fish will establish a good feeding spot. If you are going to pre-bait keep it quiet as you don't want anyone jumping in the swim you have pre-baited. I would recommend vitalin as a good cheap pre-bait and also mix in a few of your chosen baits either boilies, worms, maggots, corn, maize etc. But keep the feed going in regular! Hope this works it did for me!
  9. all lakes are different mate. It is probably best to ask baliffs or anglers what they are using and either try the same or be brave and try something completly different. Sweetcorn is always a good bait to use!
  10. try www.catcherbaits.co.uk mate they might be able to help you out. Quality bait aswell
  11. Try shopping around for deals it is worth getting a copy of improve your course fishing or angling times as these feature loads of deals etc. it seems that the kit features loads of little extras which is where the price is made up. I purchased a good ron thompson starter kit with shimano reel from north west angling for under £50 with floats, hooks, line etc. I would recommend searching the internet for bargains!
  12. i have a greys marker rod and its fine touch wood! thats the problem with importing goods from the far east most of the time the quality is good but then there are odd occasions when they let you down. My company imports goods from china and the quality is 50/50. But as you say the customer service is good and you can keep changing them if you get a problem because of the lifetime guarantee.
  13. a few mates brought these rods and they have both taken them back. I heard a rumour that the blanks were imported from the far east and there has been a problem with the quality so there are a load of dodgy rods around. I wouldnt be too worried as they have a lifetime guarantee on them.
  14. The bivvy socks are fairly waterproof so if a small amount of water gets through your socks will stop it getting to your feet. In Theory! It has worked for me!!!!
  15. Im Getting these myself they seem really warm and they also have a rubber sol so you will not slip if you get a run in the night. I would recommend that you get a size too big so you can wear an extra pair of socks just in case you step in a puddle then your feet will not get wet at all. Hope this helps
  16. what about using the fake pellets in either 15mm or 20mm you can hair rig these and also add flavours. A little trick is to get a set of forceps and squeeze the pellet as much as it wil go and hold it in a flavour of your choice and slowley release the forceps this will then act the same way as a sponge and will soak up the flavour. Hope this helps
  17. Polly i got them from my local tackle shop £2.99 for 5 bit of a bargain really.
  18. Im using the Anchor Flying Backleads seem to work ok not getting near as many liners as i usually get!
  19. Yeah it does i always fish short hooklengths when im using bottm baits as i think you get better hooking potential. I use a longer hooklength with pop-ups.
  20. its got to be the solar carbon danglers! I am taking things to the exreme. Carbon Danglers,Stainless chunky Chains,Stainless Ball Line Clips,Solar Isotopes,Solar Stainless Hockey Sticks. All on Solar Buzzbars and Sticks. All in blue to go with my blue led on my delkims and also the blue line clips on my rods! It looks the Business! The missus thinks im mad!!!
  21. I have just changed over from fox swingers to solar Hangers and my catch rate seems to have improved dramatically!!! Whats everyone else using?
  22. What a find! I love fishing unnown waters. I found ne and had a few large carp out of it. Im now always on the lookout for unfished waters.
  23. I Brought 10kgs of this bait and i have only caught 6 fish on it. Its not a bad bait but it will not take off in the waters i fish!
  24. Just been looking into buying some clothing for fishing. I have looked at the Nash Zero Tolerance Range anyone used it?
  25. I live in Bury St Edmunds, which is about 10 miles from mildenhall. There is loads of fishing to choose from. There are some pit at barton mills which are good for pleasure fishing, there is also paradise lakes in lakenheath. I would suggest buying the bury angling club ticket as there are loads of waters in bury st edmunds and also thetford and there is some great stretch's of river. Go into any local tackle shop and they will point you in the right direction. Hope this Helps
