  1. I with you lads on wasps (or anything that can fly, buzz and sting) My wife takes the mickey out of me all the time when we are out. I'm a nightmare at picnics and I think I have got my son going on the same fear now. Worst case whilst fishing was when I lived overseas. I was fishing a dam and was "attacked" by a load of hornets I ended up jumpimg into the dam to escape. Very embarrassing at the time!

  11. Well said Leon people who have never been in situation will never understand the split second decision to fire. Also as to previous post what sort of parent lets their child of 7 have a gun that fires ball bearings? A Toy I think not! Kev
  12. I caught mullet down in the Falklands and have to say didnt find it as tasty as Bass. It wasnt too bad just not a strong taste.
  13. Got a little time off work yesterday so thought I would pop down to local river for a bit of trotting. Got there set up rod and noticed didnt have any floats(No problems only 5 mins from home) So back in car for floats, back at river rod set up oh oh no bait left maggots in fridge. Back into car and maggots retrieved on way back to river. Stopped at roadworks in home village when wham car is rear ended. Car looks like a write off (awaiting bodyshop quote) back and neck gone for a burton and guess the fish are safe from me for another day.I suppose I was just not destined to fish yesterday.

  15. Does anyone know of a tackle shop online or in Lincoln area that let you open an account. I am looking to buy some clothing and new rods in near future and one option is to pay an amount monthly. Obviously I could save first and then buy but with winter upon us the new clothing could come in handy now. Appreciate any help on this. Cheers Kev
  16. I'm not overtly pro or anti hunting. But I think that too many threads despite content are being used as platforms for various views on this subject. Believe it or not Foxhunting does not consume everyones thoughts.

  22. Just got back from my clubs local water which is free to fish for all members and family. Took my 5 year old with me as he's been on at me for a few days to go fishing. Well what a day we had the little'un caught roach to 1lb, perch to 3/4lb, and bream to 1 1/2lb. I had one bite all day between baiting his hook and helping to land his fish (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I caught a PB bream just over 10lbs and if the look on my little lads face mirrored my own we must have looked a right happy pair. My lad is totally obsessed now and he keeps telling me that he wants to be like Matt Hayes(not like his old man you notice lol).I knew taking him to tacklefest and meeting his hero was a mistake, first signs that his old man is not the best thing since sliced bread, oh well they all grow up in the end :-).
  23. Its just a local club water with plenty of bream, carp, rudd, roach etc.just about an acre in size so not to big.a good lake to try out this method.
  24. Thanks for the info I'll pop into my tackleshop tomorrow and see what he has. I've read gaffers article on marker rods and I am itching to try out a local club water where they have bream to 12lbs and carp to twenties. I'm after the bream but wouldnt say no to a pb carp kev
