Steve Burke 177
Bookings will be closing no later than 7.30pm on Wednesday, a week after they opened. This is to give plenty of time to let you know whether or not you've got a place. I say "whether" as I've double the number of bookings as last year, and so am oversubscribed for the first time! Sorry, but it'll mean that some of you will be disappointed. However the good news is those of you who aren't offered a place this year will have priority next year. I'm off to Wingham shortly for a couple of days but will announce who's got a place as soon as possible after I get back. Anderoo 394
I say "whether" as I've double the number of bookings as last year, and so am oversubscribed for the first time! Had to happen one day! I never could understand why there were places left. And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Steve Burke 177
As Peggy posted earlier, applications for the Fish-In are now closed as I’m way oversubscribed. This will also give time for those coming to get bait and BBQ orders paid for, and gear sorted. Talking of sorting, sorting out the best and fairest way to allocate tickets has been a nightmare! I’ve been able to accommodate most who weren’t at last year’s Fish-In, plus a few who were. I’ve done this partly by grouping friends together so that they can all come the same year. This has also helped no end with allocating swims as I’ve only a limited number of double ones. For this year only I’ve relaxed the requirement to be a Forum member at the time of the announcement. This is because it was difficult to check unless someone had posted. Note though that I’m going to be even stricter next year as you’ll have had to have made at least one post by the time I announce I’m taking bookings. This will quickly allow me to see who’s a member and who’s not. This restriction will also apply to family members and guests who want to fish. However this post could simply be to introduce yourself, and so is surely nothing much to ask. Please note though this will be based on the offer of a place rather than if you actually fish. This is because it wouldn’t be fair to cancel this year (say because of a bad weather forecast) and then expect to be guaranteed a place next year. Those of you who fished last year but still have a place this year include Elton and Si who run the Wingham web site, plus Wyeknot (Steve Campbell) and Anderoo (Andrew Walker) who are already night syndicate members on the Coarse Lake. They and another night member, Comus (Andy Bloomfield), who hasn’t come to a Fish-In before, get the chance to fish the Carp Lake – although if the warm weather continues the carp might be spawning! I’m inviting Budgie back on the Coarse Lake this year for as many of you know he’s still poorly having just come out of hospital. Knowing Budgie, if he doesn’t fish he’ll still turn up anyway and then exhaust himself wandering round the lake to see everyone each day! This means that, to keep them together, I’ve also included Budgie’s brother Andrew, and Andrew’s mate Andy Commons. Medway Green (Richard Morcombe) also has a place as he’s fishing only 1 day and not overnight. Finally, Vagabond (Dave Park) is coming on Sunday (and possibly Monday) to sell signed copies of his brilliant book and will have a roving place, as will Leon during the day on Saturday. Although the Coarse Lake is 40 acres I restrict the numbers partly because the fish aren’t used to much pressure at all, and too many guests attending could cause catches to dive. Additionally I need some flexibility in case I have to close swims due to adverse weather, as in 2006. In fact I’ve already added 2 places this year hoping that Soozie U is fit enough to fish. The following are therefore invited to fish this year: Carp Lake Terry (bailiff) Tom (bailiff) Elton Si Wyeknot (Steve Campbell) Comus (Andy Bloomfield) Anderoo (Andrew Walker) Coarse Lake Glyn (bailiff) Tony U Soozie U JK (Joel Kempson) LJK (Len Kempson) Budgie Burgess Andrew Burgess Andy Commons Dant (Dan Tungate) Paul Westcott (Tincatinca) Mat Hillman Terry t shirt (Terry Read) KAYC (Kevin Clarkson) Ian Campbell Tigger (Ian) Miroku (Steve) Robram (Robert Leggatt) Kevin Leggatt Sharkbyte (Wayne McCulley) Russ McCulley Will Wilkinson Mike Whisterton Tency (Bill Hand) Bert84 (Ed Hand) Boozlebear (Simon White) Jack White Pangolin (Jon Dwyer) Vagabond (Dave Park) Richard Morcombe Leon Roskilly Sorry that I can't fit you in but the following have a guaranteed invitation to fish next year: Richard Capper Badexcuseforanangler (Darren Smith) Jedibond (Ian Shiels) Dales (Stephen Daly) Anthony 78 (Anthony Chance) Cliff 63 Poledark (Den Darkin) Ted74 (Den’s mate) John BLOCK (John Westley) Cousin Steve Maddog aka Colin R (Colin Rennison) 3 Doors Down (Nic Horne) Finally, would Mike Whisterton please send his questionnaire back. If anyone can contact Mike please would you do so in case he doesn’t read this. As soon as I get Mike’s answers I can finalise the swim allocations, although they’re pretty much done anyway.
