Steve,

I very rarely use barbed hooks, in fact I don't think I have any aprt from some 16's to 2lb nylon I use once a year for grayling :)

Can you suggest a brand / pattern that would be suitable for fishing lobs at Wingham and meets your requirements?

I'm happy with barbless hooks up to and including size 10. For lobs though I'd recommend size 6s. I use Kamasan B940 Aberdeens that have relatively small barbs and are fine in the wire. Size 6 is the smallest in this pattern. Nearly every tackle shop sells these or similar in their sea fishing section.

Email sent - Will pop down for a few hours. As a member I will only fish if there are vacant swims.

I will have a supply of "Angling Vagabond" in the car for sale at £11-50 - for anyone who wants an autographed copy on the day.

Mail sent :D

Now to wait ..... really hope I can fish it again, but even if not I'll try and pop down to help with lifts etc.

If anyone needs transport down I'll be travelling from Bletchley, via Dartford and can take 2 passengers with kit.

i wasnt at the fish-in last year but from what iv heard he nearly emptied the lake. lol i think he should be allowed back to see if it was luck ... or skill lol

It wasn't so much what he caught but the rumor that he whispered to each fish before release asking them to pass along to their friends to only visit his swim and the fish appeared to pay attention.

Please remember that just because you've received a list of questions doesn't mean that you'll definitely get a place. The early indications are that I'm going to be full up for the first time.

The first to miss out fishing will be those who are both Forum and Wingham night members, simply because they can fish the water at any time. However Wingham members are welcome to come along for the social, and I know a lot intend to.

Otherwise I'll be giving priority to those who haven't been before.

Please note though though that, unless there's space, it's registered Forum members only. The dividing line will be the time when I first announced I was taking bookings. This means that guests may not get a place.

Finally, I've been asked to clarify what I mean by fishbaits not being allowed. This is simply live and dead fish, i.e. pike baits. Fishmeal groundbaits etc are fine.
