Should we ban the CA as a topic on AN?

I would be pleased to discuss hunting, shooting or fishing bans in all of their forms.

I do have to say that I think the C.A is not really relevant to the majority of anglers and wonder if we would better spend our time talking about a cohesive approach to the undoubted upcoming threat to the sport that we ALL enjoy and have in common. (Apart, that is from Mullet fishing, can't stand that!)

Yeah.. if the CA were banned as a topic, "sportsman" wouldn't have anything to write about, would he? He sure knows sweet FA about angling..

Wordbender:

Wordbender:

...angling will only be damaged by association with those anachronistic dinosaur knuckle-scrapers.

As a lifelong shooter, I find that sweeping verdict as sad as it is innaccurate, Graham. And if you imagine for one minute that fishing isn't a form of hunting - you're that decendent of those dinosaurs, the ostrich.
Put down your handbag for a minute Wordbender. I had forgotten that you were a carp angler, so I take back the "dinosaur" bit.

All the best.

We've been discussing this on the non-fishing Forum. See

Unfortunately, this was another thread that got bogged down with the CA and foxhunting.

And on the eighth day God created carp fishing...and he saw that it was pukka.

No worries mate.. :P:D

Wordbender sets about creating a sure-fire Romani-stylie spell that'll turn Graham X into a toad with halitosis......

......then realises that this would represent a promotion for him.

:P

Take THAT, Sir! And never show yourself within range of my handbag again! Harrumph. :D
