Bait Boats

Does anyone else feel that bait boats are far too expensive?

 

As good as they may be, £600+ is a lot of money and i just cant afford to pay these sort of prices.

 

Ive been wanting one for a while now and the only option i have is to build one myself, now this is quite a hard task especially while trying to keep the price down.

 

Does anyone know of an affordable bait boat or any sites that will help with my little project.

we used to use a bit of wood or polystyrene with a sail on it ,you let it drift to where you wanted it and pulled it over with attached string ,ofcourse a wind from behind was required but in the 70`s little else was available , and yes the prices are high because like everything else people are stupid enough to pay it :mad: we bought a 20 foot sailing boat with a 20 hp outboard for £400 it had 3 berths and a cooker etc ,just a little harder to launch but definatly value for money than £600 for a couple of square feet of fiberglass and a remote

a friend of mine has just paid over a £1000 for one,its got the lot,cameras,recievers..for that money i would want it to make me a cuppa in the mornings!!

For that kinda money i would also want to be able to sit in it lol I had a friend a work that paid the same kinda money. Couldn't do it myself i can think of better things to spend £1000 on but every man/woman to themselves i guess.

Bait boats...for those who can't cast

i suppose they are handy on big waters,but i agree they are exspensive and a lot of waters dont let you use them anyway

What happens when the boat is 400 yards out in the lake and the battery runs out! Or if it goes out of radio range!

Apache - Do you really think anyone would be stupid enough to fish at 400 yards? Perhaps some idiots would try it, but the vast majority = NO!
