Hi Orca, you wouldn't like the new Nick in the latest article, Mail yesterday, Metro today.

He's ABRASIVE!

and he doesn't socialise!

and he only helps people when they ask him to!

Thanks for the offer Shaun, I know the gist of the Metro story, and as I have plenty of bog roll I don't think I want it :D

Strange to say, having spoken to many journalists since the mail ran their piece, and told them the truth about why we are moving and ignored their pathetic attempts to make out there is some sort of agenda to drive us from the island, they all seem to have decided not to bother doing the story.

Don't you love the british media.

The British Media are a right bunch - very hard to love them ! Hope they were not to harsh towards you Nick.

The article about jobs in the higlands and islands also appeared in whatever rag I read today. It is also very wide of the mark in opinion.

Hi-tec jobs were noted, as far as I know there is more people with these skills than there is jobs. Here on Lewis, there is no shortage of people for Hi-tec jobs as far as I know. I work in IT ... and every job advertised is quickly snapped up with no shortage of candidates for jobs, I dont work for a company here in Lewis, just now I am under contract to a company in across the pond in New York.

Construction Industry - yes definately, there is a short fall, as less and less school leavers have gone into construction ... there are many jobs for bricklayers, joiners, electricans, plumbers etc etc

Thats my opinion on it anyway.

Hiya, Re the 1000.s needed in the North of Scotland, years ago, a paper ran a story of 400 new jobs in Inverness ( a VERY famous Scottish Sunday paper),so off I toddled to the job centre, who phoned Inverness job centre....they said that they had been inundated with calls about the story, and that they had about 7 jobs to offer !!!!!!
