Ever been driven at 109mph?

by the mark on the windscreen it looks like youve already hit a giraffe ,not only the gate but that pole opposite is just starting to fall,deer could jump onto your bonnet at anytime, a small child may be picking daffs ,the end of the road is only 1/4" wide the more you look the more dangers you see ,and i'm not mentioning the usuall summer day invisible motorbikes ,alien probing ships and gangs of marauding vikings

just some of those things you have to look out for on country lanes nowadays ,within 6 months theyl be a speed camera every 10 yards even janeway would have a problem evacuating her main reactor or realining her warp nascelles :mad:

speed is relative, 80 in a hatchback with dodgy tyres, worn brakes and a half asleep driver is a lot more dangerous than the same speed in a fast car being driven well within its limits, with good tyres, brakes capable of stopping it quickly, being driven by an alert driver (and yes i do drive a fast car often, and i drive it almost always in excess of the speed limits, never had an accident, and the only points on my license were accrued in the jeep )

 

the real dangerous driving, which speed cameras will never pick up is tailgating, how many crashes

are caused by that? it was probably a factor in the one ferret witnessed today......

Speed, Like age is a relative concept.

 

I have ridden a motorcyle at 135mph and driven a car at 138mph..........

 

It WAS a thrill but something that you get used to which, in itself is the very problem.

so my ton in a reliant regal was ok then ,been on a bike at 119 and a darn sight faster in a sports car ,the only difference is that you could see where you were going in the car getting off the bike your eyes were still juddering
