Cory, the sentence that does it is:

"ambushed by the reptile in a neighbouring garden."

The owner of his pet (the snake) was in HIS garden - the cat was a "trespasser" Maybe now people will stop this "it's a cat, it does what it wants!" attitude!

I am seriously thinking of buying a snake!! :D:D:D

P.S. - I do have a cat!!

Mr Wadey added, many owners underestimate the snake's "wild instincts".

Ironic comming from the owner of a cat - decimators of Britains songbirds, small mamals and native reptiles......

Just love it

The more cats that get eaten the better

Ken - Yes I agree, everyone who owns a cat indulges the animal, and whan someone complains, they argue that a cat is a wild animal....yeah, right! The only cats that are wild are feral cats and the big cats (lions. tigers etc.)

If the owners fed the cats properly and gave them the attention they want, the cats stay at home!

I recently lost one cat that I had had for 23 years, and have another one of eight years old (that was born out of a union with a domestic and a feral cat!) and I have never seen them hunt in earnest! They are just too well fed!!

That is unbelievable! Their cat gets eaten in someone else's garden and they are complaining? What is worse is that the RSPCA take their complaint seriously. It is about time cat owners took responsibility for their dammed cats. I have complained to a neighbour and been told that I just have to put up with their cat trying to catch the fish in my pond and the birds in my garden because cats cannot be controlled. Strange that we never see valuable show cats walking around the streets. My staffy has controlled two cats in a most effective way but if those who owned them knew about it, they might want me to keep him indoors.

Incidently, the council in a suburb adjacent to the one in which I live recently made cat owners responsible for their cats. If a cat is caught in someone else's garden and the owner is traced they can be fined up to $1,000.

A mate of mind used to have problems with possums but they and several of the local moggies "disapeared" shortly after a 3m carpet python took up temporary residence in his roof.

The snake is gone now but the possums never came back.
