Thats was handy, JB was on line ....

Hi,

I haven't heard of this story here. Haven't been on the local News. Reunion

island is the nearest island to Mauritius and it is own by France. Laws are

completely different from Mauritius. Guns and spear fishing are allowed

which is illegal in Mauritius.

This is very cruel but haven't heard of this practice before. I will try to

ask around for more info on the weekend since I got someone comming over on

Sunday from Reunion island.

Cheers,

Kev

and i am still not convinced the original pic of the dog with the wire through its lip was genuine either, but alledgedly someone has taken a fall for this, i suppose we wont know for sure unless we know someone over there

Was the original picture similar to the one below but with the hooks added??

Hmmm lets see now, i wonder which anti group would try and fool people into thinking a doctored picture was real?

BTW the picture was done a long time back by a very sad american anti group just about the most famous of them all and yes plenty of people fell for it including anglers.

Good Work Edna :D

So many people believe everything they read, and the Sun has a lot to answer for.

All I need them to do is run a headline such as this.

"Don Ramos confirmed to be worlds greatest lover/fisherman"

Then my reputation would be complete

:D

I phoned the RSPCA this morning

Then sent them an email with copy of the picture above.

Copied that email to the editor of the Sun

Hoping for a reply

Regards

Both pics are 100% fakes and I hardly think it will have the so called desired result of discrediting those fishing for shark commercially.

I would like to see the transcript of the court case, I am sure it would make interesting reading and have very little to do with dogs or sharks.

If it did I would not be set back to far as a poor fisherman would do anything to put a few dollars in the family coffers, even go to court for something that never happened.

Either the Sun is blessed with complete idiots or they are prepared to print knowingly blatant lies.

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

Reunion is a DOM, an overseas departement of France. It is in effect French, so yes guns and spear fishing are legal to the same extent that they are in mainland France. I am pretty sure that using a dog for fishing bait is likely to be just as illegal in Reunion as they would be on the banks of the Seine. I think the whole story is a crock of merde meself!

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.
