video/dvd advice wanted

hi everybody, ive got an oldish video recorder, that the nipper plays her kids videos on. a few days ago it came up on screen as "heads need cleaning". which i did.

it now appears to have problems with the tracking drifting!

any clues anybody?

also, is it economicaly viable to get videos put onto dvd`s? do they "come out o.k"?

If you already have a video caputure card and all the gubbins that goes with it, yes and yes so long as the video's don't have Macrovision copy protection that'll bugger up all the settings. Unfortunatly, most Disney ones do.

 

If you need to use a comercial high street photoshop to do your conversions, it'll probably be cheaper to simply by them again through one of the any on-line budget DVD stores such as

converting your video's to dvd is costly my friend does it for £10 per hour of video he said the shops charge £20

it's only costly if you're daft or rich enough to pay someone else to do it!

memory size and power of PC is the limiting factor in converting video to dvd

and there are ways round macrovision if you know what u r doing and have the right software which is freely available out there in www land

hi chesters!i used two different head cleaning tapes, the first one was just like a normal video tape, and didnt seem to do anything. the second one had some liquid, which i had to put in a little hole in the cleaning tape,before running it. that worked, and the "clean heads" message vanished. it was shortly after that the probs started with the tracking.
