After zooming in to 400% and scanning the image i still dont see the float. I think it might be unclear on the image provided as there is low light. There seems to be something that resembles a float in a dark patch of shade creates by a tree on the far bank.

Right after close examination,(again) i think the float is through the eye at top of rod, either that or you have no eyes at the top as there appears to be a couple then nothing towards what looks like the rod tip but in fact it is the float.
