Newt, what amazes me is the apparent lack of response from the US Bible Belt to PETA.

Peter - I think it is more a matter that PETA hasn't risen to the level of a minor annoyance in that section of the US.

 

These days we are fighting against (and mostly winning) some of the more stupid 'gun ban' attempts.

 

One factor that helped sink John Kerry in the last election was his anti-gun and anti-hunting views which were not well received in the 'heartland' section of the country.

 

Note to all: before any screams start up, 'hunting' is US speak for shooting game (as opposed to shooting targets) with gun or bow. The fox/hounds things is a total non-issue here but if it were, we'd speak of 'fox hunting'.

I was just thinking. If I could get myself and a couple of mates on to the appropriate committee on the local council I would ban livebait, treble hooks, match fishing, photographing your catch,and I would make all of the local stillwaters fly only, just to satisfy my particular prejudices, and I like fishing!

Just imagine what someone who didn't like fishing could do.

Several anglers have posted, in the past, that all sport shooting should be banned!
