Where a pair of polarised glasses for angling....and then go home and chuck out all your other sunglasses!

They are particularly effective for lure fishing and you don't need to spend much on them, necessarily, unless you need prescription ones.

There are reviews of a cheap pair and a prescription pair in our review section.

Tight lines,

Elton

Polaroids are absolutely essential if you want to sightfish in clear rivers.

Chesters, I think most people tend to moan about clip-ons.Fortunately I still have most of my faculties and haven't had to go down that route yet.

I remember seeing mention on another site of very good prescripton polaroids available from somewhere but don't remember exactly where.I'll investigate and post again later.

Leon reviewed Optilabs presciption polaroids here on Angler's Net. I bought a pair as a result and found them brilliant and cheaper than on the high street. Having said that I seem to recall a TV ad by Specsavers in the last few days offering a free pair of prescription polaroids when you buy an ordinary pair of glasses costing more than £80 or so.

Elton, are the sunglasses you tried OK? I was looking at them the other night(been away for a few days so not had chance to ask before)

I was going to order some as they are 'in my price range' I am not sure what happened but when I tried to connect to their site & tell them I had seen them on here It said I couldn't connect as it was a 'bad site' or words to that effect

I will try again later, I have to collect Liam now.

You have said in your rewiew they were good, so I guess they must be :)

Do Polarised sunglass work or are they a waist

of Money, When you could go and get a cheap pair

of sunglass.

I have never worn a pair and would like to know

before I buy a pair.

Thank you

Personally I consider polaroids absolutely essential for fishing. They cut down glare, enable you to see into the water, may prevent headaches, etc etc.

I wear clip-ons, over my normal spectacles. I can not imagine trying to fish without them.
