Way more entertaining than cricket. Otherwise the latest 'cricket thingy' would be on at peak viewing times, and it isn't!

My Aussie relations cant understand this either, thewy send me e mails about cricket (England v Oz) but can't seem to comprehend that most of us just dont care either way, the premiership, now thats a different thing altogether! I''m, so happy to be Englsh. :)

Ah, obviously a personal opinion thing.....maybe even a class thing? Cricket is real, therefore the support of your national team can only be seen as positive. My wife watches soaps ad nauseam....she's highly educated and chooses to watch them!...I prefer to watch engineering or wildlife based rubbish. We both however, leap at the opportunity to see the English cricket team wipe the bottoms of their opponents!

The fact that the opposition might be white, middle class, arrogant poor losers is neither here nor there.....just very smugly satisfying B)

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Hi Emma,

Let's be honest here soaps bare very little resemblance of real life, my wife who does watch them has said as much.

They are creations for obtaining viewing figures and aimed at the masses, quality of acting and resemblance to real life are not a consideration. I am not a cricket fan but at least it can be termed real life

I certainly do not waste my time watching the c**p and I am neither middle, upper or lower class, just plain and very simple dear old me

I fish, I catches a few, I lose a few, BUT I enjoys. Anglers Trust PM

Ohhhhh, a quickie for you. It is on at peak time and they have had a live audience of 80,000 watching it. Shame it's on the other side of the world, so us hardcore fans have to do the night shift over here. Is it worth it, you bet.

fffffffffffffffffffootballs, whats that all about? Sounds like a load of corrie actors playing that one. Ohhhh and i agree with you, i love being english, go and ask any Aussie this morning.

Yes but it's English with a capital E, especially when Aussie is given a capital A in the same sentence ;)

I am happy enough for England to win at cricket, I just wouldn't wish to have to endure the mind numbing boredom of watching them do it.

the premiership, now thats a different thing altogether! I''m, so happy to be Englsh.

I'm not a sports fan either but that statement really has me confused. Apart from the title being the "Engish Premier League", what has the premiership got to do with England apart from the fact that we host the events, The club owners, managers and players are afterall mostly forigners - probably why our national team perform so badley.

Given the choice of watching a soap, or cricket, or having a tooth out, I would gladly walk to the Dentists.

You answered you own question, it's English because it's games are played in England (and a few in Wales too), I'm not sure that the 'official'title is English? it's the Barclays premier leauge.

I care not that players are not English nationals, they provide us with the best, in terms of quantity and arguably quality (Spain's is good) football in the world.

Our national team hold only passing interest to me, as is the case with lots of us whos first love and loyalty its towards our club.
