It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Inside maybe. Don't know. But I wouldn't think the outside was particularly sterile with wild ones considering the places they go for food.

how do they steralise then :confused: i think steam for 40mins would render them useless (but mayby edible),alcohol immersion would make them happy but dead ,radiation might work (glow in the dark maggots hmmmmm) whatever they eat will be contaminated with something (mercury ,cadmium etc) perhaps there veggie ones (pesticides??)

puss eating maggots are not a new idea nor leeches for blood letting ,i would beware of warble fly maggots though they take their job VERY seriously :D

Do maggots wriggle? I thought that they just did what maggots do! :confused: But then again, I have never been to university! Perhaps if the poster did some research of his own - starting with a dictionary, I would suggest - his research might just be of a little more value to him.

Sadly, I believe that in WWI maggots were credited with being a preventer of gangrene. A badly infected injury was better being allowed to be infested by maggots which ate the infected flesh before it died. And at the time there were more of them than medical personel.

Dear All,

And you lot call yourselves anglers? Anyone who knows about goin fishin surely knows why maggotts wriggle?

To begin with, A maggots head is the pointy bit and its bottom is the fat stumpy end. Now take your maggot by its head between the finger and thumb, then lift the maggot up right close to your ear. Listen very carefully.....

And if you do as the maggot wriggles, you will hear a tiny voice say;

Goodie Goodie, were going fishing!!

Regards,

Lee.
