I was just wondering what everyones favourite weekly/monthly angling pubs were?.I buy angling times every week and find it has a decent balance between ads features and reviews.I used to buy anglers mail but found it had too many ads with only the andy little section worth a read?.For what its worth my favourite monthly has to be coarsefisherman, whats your topreads?.

Coarse Angling Today for Roger Standen writing about Chubbing in Sussex and Steff Horak writing about anything. Coarse Fisherman for John Bailey and Tony Miles. Waterlog (bi-monthly but I hope it counts) for John Bailey again and lots of very beautiful writing. For having its tongue in its cheek and "Improve your Traditional Angling" having my non-angling colleagues at work in stitches.

I think AT is shallow and has gone downhill big time since its revamp, whilst AM has improved no end with its new editor. I find AM tends to carry more news now. So, for a weekly it has to be Anglers Mail for me, which, thankfully is DT free!!! Monthlies see me with no particular loyalty, buying one or two per month depending on content. Pikelines is a much favoured quarterly read of mine, really look forward to that one. Pike and Predator, blame Nev Fickling, grrrrrrrrrrrrr, stopped buying that some issues ago. Coarse Fisherman can be really good, as can Coarse Angling Today, unless either have an overdose of barbel and yet more barbel. Improve Your Coarse Fishing is a quality read but does tend to go over old ground. Sea Angler is another good read, and a good hunting ground for sensibly priced pike gear! Angling Star is a darn good read, even to a non match angler. Worth reading for some of the humour in it.

Gotta be Waterlog for me to. Great writing but they manage at times to keep their tongue firmly in their cheeks Agree with Bill The Improve Your Traditional Angling in the current issue had me in stitches - especially the Wallis Cast bit - priceless. (For those that haven't seen it - shame on you! - the last picture in the sequence shows the end rackle wrapped around the centre pin in a birds nest!)

Due to a shortage of reading material i bought for the first time in ages anglers mail(double holiday edition)today. On page 18 it had a whats hot and not section, the first of the whats not not was the internet, i quote"home of the stay at home net nerds and web weirdos. Why tap into the chat of people who cannot spell paper let alone write on it."This actually was the comments of the editor.Strangely several pages on there was a smashing feature on internet angling and how to access angling sites???,oh and i.ve not changed my views it,s still cr*p.
