Hot water only in flask, small plastic bag containing tea bags, teaspoon & sweetners, and a small bottle of fresh milk. Spot on and a guaranteed bite just as you try and squeeze the teabag! And if I'm lucky and there's some in the house, a couple of dunkable biscuits for that extra-decadent moment.

I couldn't agree more, Chesters. That's why I make mine at home. As I said earlier, make it weaker than you normally like and it continues brewing in the flask.

Not having a proper cuppa is one of the worst things about going to the Continent or the States. In the latter an American proudly offered me some real English tea - made with real tealeaves in a teapot. Trouble is she used hot water rather than boiling water! Ugh!I reckon it all started going wrong with the Boston Tea Party1

It's even worse in Germany. Some restaurants don't even have fresh milk on the premises. You get evaporated milk to go with your lukewarm cup of water. They don't even put the teabag in the water!

Steve,

If you'll come back we'll try harder! Somehow those of us in America that drink tea prefer it steeped in hot, not boiling, water. Boiled tea is much too strong to suit my taste.

Bring Chesters along with you although I beleive he is beyond teaching. BTW tea from India seems most pleasing to the taste on the great plaines of the US midwest.

Phone

Edit: Regarding the straw poll. I like a bottle of hot Dr. Pepper (a cola soft drink) and a little beef jerky.
