Reasons to be cheerful

Maybe where you are, I'm geting out after them every day I can now before the cold sets in.

A lot of waters down here work to a predator season be they commercial waters or club waters. Often I think its to work around there fair weather anglers after Carp and other species and less to do with the normal Pike welfair argements that are always trotted out for having a designated predator season.

I don't mind it so much waiting until Winter for the Pike but I tend to find that Zander fishing is better in milder weather and have to admit I am not the greatest fan of Pike fishing in really bitter weather and as I get older it seems less and less appealing. Do more hours for less runs :(

Stephen

Well I've left it a few days and there have been some reasons to be cheerful.

The news that Emma and Mr Phone (as Alan said) are improving. That Ken has seen an improvement in his river. But, Monsieur Dave has reaffirmed my pessimism by telling me what I already knew.

So while pleased to hear of members personal good news, I do feel vindicated in my grumpy, pessimistic, we're all doomed, out look on angling in general.

Normal service will be resumed.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Knowing how much you enjoy something to moan about I just wrote that to make you feel better ;)

I reead the obituary column this morning and my name wasn't there... the downside to this was that it meant I had to get up for work.

Great news, the summer holidays are nearly over.....that means I can have my river back from the noddies!

The weather's looking good for a big wrecking session in the Irish Sea....after four weathered off trips in succession!

Absolutely loads of salmon parr in the Lugg.....despite the apparent lack of salmon!

Found an otter spraint in a 'busy' area of the Lugg....note previous comment!

I haven't caught any carp recently

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

It has filled me with really warm cheer that 2 of you listed my recovery as a reason to be cheerful, thank you very much for that x.
