I did read on a photography forum where if you shine a laser light at the controller it will turn the light off for a short time.

Just enough time to grab a photo they say.

What's really shocking about those photo's isn't that the photo sensor controls the lamp but that councils are quite happy to install the lamps right outside someones bedroom window without the slightest thought of installing a shield to control the amount of light spilling into the house.

Presumably, they'd rather pick up the bill for special educational provision for kids that never get a decent nights sleep than pay for better designed street lighting.

Our continental cousins use shutters. I could never quite work out why we don't do the same.

You can make them come on by putting your hand over the sensor, it amuses us on scaffolds sometimes.

i would have the windows bricked up if curtains never existed ,we even have net curtains and facing due south we have lined curtains to keep any sun from shining through ,some people are either oblivious others can see in (even with nets if the lights are on) or like being looked at (exhibitionists? or showing their "stuff" off?) we have even noticed motorhomes keeping their blinds open at night possibly to show how big their on board telly is
