you can try what i've done this year, find a shaded bit of garden, put all your grass cuttings on it, keep it watered, damp but not wet, when you want to go fishing just clear away the top layer of cuttings and dig, so far every time i've had enough worms of differant sizes to last me each time i go fishing, what i dont use i just put back under the cuttings until next time. Give it a try :D

Lobworms are notoriously hard to keep alive. A very slight change in PH can wipe the whole lot out.

Better to breed Dendrobaenas. They can take any household veg matter and fully utilse it. They breed like...umm...rabbi...no worms I suppose.

A big bin, a beer barrel will do.

In fact...doesn't Leon have an article about all this stuff??

Go to www.wigglywigglers.co.uk and look at the Wastejuggler or Can-o-Worms. Both good products.

Something I discovered recently - many councils have special schemes where they sell composters and the like cheaply to try and encourage recycling. Might well be worth looking on your local council website and see if they have anything available.

In my younger days i used to creep over to the local golf course with a torch late at nite when the worms come out and have a tug of war with the lobs.is anyone still doing this?? used to get enough for a couple of trips and put them in moss to toughen up a couple of days before i was going fishing. THERE IS A KNACK TO PULLING THEM OUT OF THEIR HOLES. DONT PULL TOO HARD OR THEY BREAK IN HALF.

the knack is put your finger VERY quickly over the tail end where it goes into the ground(they keep their tail in the hole for emergency escape) pull the worm gently by the head end away from the hole, keep up a gentle pressure and after a few secs the worms relax and its yours , hopefully now theres been a little rain they will appear even slugs have been i short supply and we get millions
